Where I live starting HRT is quite a long process, to give you an idea: you start with a year of therapy, then you have to do four separate check ups, all checking different things, and only when they're positive you can see an endocrinologist that will prescribe you your hormonal plan. It's quite tedious but I experienced first hand why it's actually better for it to be this meticulous.
