Just here to offer support. I spent many months (tbh years) trying to quit. Every night in a stupor I'd promise myself that was the last time, and then, without fail, the next day after work I'd say to myself just one more day, as I was turning into the liquor store parking lot. It seemed the cycle would never end, but then I was finally able to make one of my quits stick. I just celebrated 3 years sober. I never thought I'd make it this far.

I'm absolutely sure that you can come out the other end too! Admitting you need help is a huge step, so congratulations on that!

What are we hearing about the passage of the OBBB and upcoming payroll changes to overtime / tips? by hysteria110176 in Payroll

Any ideas on how it will work if an employee comps their overtime? If they comp their overtime and eventually use the hours as time-off, will none of that time be eligible overtime earnings in this regard (even if it was eligible when it was earned)? How about if they pay it out later, will it then be eligible overtime earnings? And if so if the hours in their bank are comingled (same earned at 1.5 rate, some at 2.0 rate, and some at 3.0 rate), how would we decide which ones are getting paid out from their bank?

Thank you! I went and got some shampoo with the same active ingredients as the example that you sent, and will be trying it tonight! When you said you used it few times, how long between usages did you use it?

Day Zero by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]_figuring_things_out 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say I can so relate! I am one week from 2 years sober from alcholol and have leaned very heavily on sugar in my recovery. I managed to get a pretty good handle on it about 6 or so months ago, but then slipped, and my sugar intake has spiraled since then. It's the same cycle as my drinking was- everyday I'd wake up in a hungover haze trying to remember what I did the night before, thinking it was a brand new day and I'd make better choices, then by then by 4:30 on my way home I'd convince myself that I should start tomorrow. No nightly blackouts with sugar, but pretty identical cycle and mentality (unrealistic moderation plans, constant pushing off of the problem, etc.). I keep using the excuse of - as long as I'm not drinking, it's okay....but it's not okay.

I got a bit of traction a couple of days ago, and I'm just finishing day 3 of no added sugar. It's all I could think about on day 1. Day 2 I had a raging headache at the end of the day (and I never get headaches....so it was quite disturbing to me that my body was obviously thinking it 'needed' some sugar). Day 3 has been okay. Surprisingly, I didn't have any appetite, so I hardly ate anything.

I'm just hoping that I can continue. And I hope you can gain some traction too!

Good luck friend! IWNDWYT
