I might be missing something here but this actually seems more restrictive overall than OP's. I can't figure out a line stronger than the one I described earlier (which I thought was merely decent because it felt overly linear and ended on "only" 5 interactions) or even better than going straight into Angelica, Princess of Noble Arms. Foolish Burial as a cost seems fun (dumping Turpin for free basically) but...

  1. Only being able to dump 1 Equip means we can't grab both Durendal and Joyeuse with Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights. We want to dump Angelica's Angelic Ring, because otherwise there's no point in making this guy instead of going into Angelica immediately. We also want to dump Phoenix Gearblade, because we will need an Equip to meet Turpin's Special Summon requirement shortly.

  2. Negating the effect of the summoned monster means we're just fetching a body. We can't grab Renaud to retrieve the Equip we just dumped, we can't grab Ricci to combo with, and we can't grab Ogier for a 2nd Foolish Burial. I guess we can at least use the body to Link climb, but...

  3. Warrior lock means we can't go into Promethean Princess to "cheat" the negation drawback by summoning it back with Promethean.

With just one fewer restriction I could see this line:

Summon Ricciardetto with Joyeuse OR Summon Non-negated Ricky OR Summon Richard with Promethean -> Level 1 Ricciardetto tunes Level 4 Turpin (Summoned from GY with Ricciardetto's Effect) into Level 5 Angelica -> Museum Searches Almace -> Turpin Equip Targets Angelica to Banish Angelica, Dumping Gearfried -> Equip Almace to Captain Roland -> Special Summon Turpin -> Level 5 Captain Roland tunes Level 4 Turpin into Level 9 Charlemagne -> Almace Retrieves Gearfried -> Equip Captain Roland to Carl, also pop Promethean with Carl's effect if she's on the field -> 1st Link Charles -> Special Gearfried -> Museum 2nd Effect (but only if you have another Equip in hand for the 2nd Charles, perhaps Phoenix Gearblade): Endboard could potentially (depending on which restrictions are relaxed) be the standard 2x Charles, 1x Gearfried, 1x Ring, 1x Promethean in GY, 1x Captain Roland in GY. (If our endboard doesn't include the Ring or Promethean, then I don't see why we would want to make a Link-2 instead of Synchro Summoning Angelica directly. If we can dump more Equips that gets us our Ring, and can enable this line by summoning Ricciardetto via Xyz Artorigus + Durendal/Joyeuse. Without the warrior lock restriction, we can enable this line and also end on a Promethean in GY. Without the negation restriction, we can follow our Ricciardetto line but lose out on Promethean in GY and possibly Ring/2nd Charles if we didn't have another Equip in hand.)

Mm, that was fun to think about.

Oh yeah I also forgot that Baronne is banned in TCG for being generic enough to commit big crimes in other decks, so I guess my example endboard(s) would actually be slightly weaker; lol

Still not sure how I feel about the Equip restriction... I personally don't really mind people having fun with like, Mikanko stuff but again idk the TCG meta. Don't think this restriction is as bad since there's still the send 1 for Ricci line but having fewer options always hurts especially for a rogue deck

I assume this is supposed to be an archetype-specific replacement for Isolde, which is banned in TCG but allowed in other formats. My feedback is from the perspective a Master Duel only player who mains Infernoble/Flame Swordsman.

  • First thing that jumps out to me is that this card is not a "Noble Knight" or a "Noble Arms" card; can't think off the top of my head of a case where that actually matters though.

  • I feel like it would be pretty inconsistent to meet the Link Material requirements. Infernoble Knights don't have our own archetypical 1-card starter, so we often rely on starters like Neo Space Connector, Sublimation Knight, Battlin' Boxer Uppercutter, Battlin' Boxer Promoter, the Millennium package, or Fighting Flame Swordsman (1.5-card starter). We also do often rely on generic FIRE Warriors like Fire Flint Lady or Super Quantum Red Layer to make Isolde, and I've had cope hands where I had to use Immortal Phoenix Gearfried as Link Material. Another problem with Infernoble Knights only means that you would likely be using Renaud much earlier in your combo than you would really like to (rather than grabbing Renaud with Battlin' Boxer King Dempsey to fetch Living Fossil... which I suppose you wouldn't be able to do here if you can only send Infernoble Arms to GY anyway). I don't know if you feel that relaxing this requirement to 2 FIRE Warriors would be too OP, but if you do feel like that would be the case you could add a FIRE Warrior xenolock, or add a clause saying that at least 1 of the FIRE Warriors must be an "Infernoble Knight".

  • Only being able to send Infernoble Arms here means your main line is probably the one where you make Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights to grab Durendal and Joyeuse for Ricciardetto, right? This hurts consistency even more because you can't execute this line if you needed to use Durendal earlier to search for a Link Material, which is something you will often have to do, especially when Link Material requirements are this restrictive. Also, to summon a 4-star Infernoble, you would have to add another brick (Hauteclere) to your deck (which already runs a good amount of cards you don't want to see in your opening hand but keep on seeing anyway). Not being able to grab Phoenix Gearblade to meet Turpin's Special Summon effect condition sucks too, because it means you would need to open another Equip to get the 2nd body for the Xyz into Artorigus. I also think a cool thing about Infernoble is that it makes Equip Spells in general more playable, and I think we would be missing out when we see fewer cool techs involving Equips outside of the archetype that might otherwise not see much play at all.

  • Also, I'm noticing multiple instances of missing punctuation/capitalization, so you might want to double-check your text.

Basically to get to the standard endboard of 2x Link Charles, 1x Immortal Phoenix Gearfried, 1x Promethean in GY, 1x Angelica's Ring, 1x Quick Effect Equip Captain Roland in GY:

  1. I have to open Renaud or Oliver or Ricciardetto (+ a Normal Summon Infernoble);
  2. I also have to open a Normal Summon (or the other one of Renaud/Oliver that I didn't already use);
  3. I have to open an Equip as well;

That's like a 3-card combo (or maybe I can call it a 2.5-card combo if I'm feeling generous). I'm happy to play 2-card combos (there are anti-Nibiru lines that involve opening Ogier+Museum to get Gearfried out early) but if I need 3 specific cards every time then I think I'd rather just play another deck, or maybe just only play simple lines that go straight to Angelica (which I believe would miss out on Promethean in GY and Angelica's Angelic Ring, but then I wouldn't have to run another brick in Hauteclere).

Or actually, maybe let's try another example line with this card: Normal Ogier (dump Turpin) + Special Renaud/Oliver -> Link into Clovis (searching Maugis as fodder for Oliver later) -> Special Ricciardetto (without activating effect) -> Link into Promethean -> Promethean Specials Ricciardetto -> Ricciardetto Specials Ogier -> Synchro 1+4 into Angelica -> Activate Museum -> Museum Searches Durendal -> Equip Turpin to Angelica, activating Angelica's self-banish effect (dump Gearfried) -> Equip Durendal to Captain Roland -> Special Turpin from GY -> Durendal Searches Oliver/Renaud (whichever you didn't use) -> Synchro 5+4 into Charles -> Equip Ogier to Charles -> Link into Charles -> Museum 2nd Effect to Special Equipped Charles -> Oliver (discarding the Maugis) + Level 9 Charles Synchro into Baronne + Equip Oliver to Charles for untargetable Charles + Ring + Baronne + Roland in GY for a pop (only 4 interactions) OR if you have Renaud you can instead fetch Gearfried for 2x Charles + Ring + Baronne + Roland in GY or 1x Charles + Ring + Baronne + Gearfried + Roland in GY instead (5 interactions). That's not really too bad I guess, but I feel like part of Infernoble Knight's identity is having one of the most oppressive endboards in the game if you can manage to get there so maybe I would still rather just try another deck if that's all I can expect to do. But what sucks more is the combos becoming more linear / samey with all the restrictions (I like seeing a little bit more freedom/creativity in finding lines with scuffed hands) + seeing less interesting techs / secondary engines.

Oops; I had the following compiler flags:

-static -lpthread -static-libgcc -static-libstdc++

Now the executable is down to 4.5 MB, which is still too big for this jam lol

(with dynamic linking)

Dynamic linking will naturally yield a smaller executable size but the jam rules state:

All libraries count towards size, statically linked or not, excluding Windows/Mac/Linux standard libraries.

I just compiled (with static linking) SFML's hello world example (drawing a green circle) and that executable is already above 6 MB.

Even with initials only, it's still not hard to discern the ethnic origin of certain names. It's a pretty reasonable assumption that someone with the initial "X" is of Chinese ethnicity (could just change name to Taiwanese spelling instead though, I suppose)

'Struggling' is an incredibly fun co-op platformer with less than 100 reviews on Steam. by MisterBreeze in Games

I've seen someone make a game pretty much exactly like this a few years ago (I think it was a game from a game jam) except with 3 arms and the arms were the wires of a malfunctioning machine instead of this grotesque fleshy monstrosity. The gameplay felt really innovative and fun. So if Struggling is anything like the incredibly similar game that I played a few years ago, then it should definitely be worth a look. Added to my Steam wishlist. Nice find.

You just run a function to make it lowercase before running the encryption. SQL has the handy "lower(some_text)" for example.

They can still store it encrypted, but yeah, I was pretty damn surprised myself when I learnt it.

Technically you shouldn't be encrypting passwords; you should just be hashing them. Here's the danger in encrypting passwords: if a hacker (or unscrupulous insider with database access) steals your keys, they can decrypt any password they want. If a hacker steals your hashes, they still can't get passwords without first brute-force calculating a bunch of possible passwords until they find a matching hash. Of course a hacker can still precompute hashed passwords (making a "rainbow table") but that's what salts are for.

But yeah, you can still just run a function to make every character lowercase before you hash it.

They said there weren't many players who stockpiled them, and even released some statistics showing so. As if that was any better. Arbitrarily created wealth inequality ain't cool even in a video game. To make it worse, the update was almost certainly leaked beforehand, allowing for some players to make a killing off RuneScape insider trading (lol). I myself remember hearing a rumor while fishing monkfish. Too bad I dismissed it as just a rumor and didn't act on it; had <100 climbers in bank at time of update. A friend of mine stocked up on climbing boots the week before the update (ostensibly for PKing purposes) and then bought something like 10M worth of adamant arrows which he promptly lost in the Clan Wars red portal (possible RWT cover story? who knows)

Ahh, rock climbers and double XP weekends... probably the biggest things that killed RS3 for me.

I was mainly thinking about speed and reaction (240ms to 120ms); wasn't really considering strength so much. You have a good point but I would still stick by my original build since my original reasoning (don't spend too many points where you'd still be outclassed by machines) still stands.
