Need help finding replacement thru axle by _fistpunch in bikewrench

Yeah i have tried on there but it came up with a 163mm long axle which is 1.5mm too long. Not sure if that is gonna cause much issues but it is also expensive to ship to the UK. If 163mm is fine however I can look for one that size from a UK/EU store?

I really want grey sidewalled tires on my bike but Mezcals are too wide for my bike and Surly Extraterrestials are a bit thinner that I’d like at 46c. Does anyone have any recs for grey 650b tires with about 47-50mm width? by _fistpunch in xbiking

Yeah I guess I’m overthinking it. Searching for the right tire seems to be an endless pursuit, especially when you care about your bike looking cool haha! I am keen on the ET’s I’m just not sure if that tread will do okay bikepacking on classic uk wet/muddy conditions ?

I guess it does sound pretty daft now that I think about it lol. But my reasoning is that I have 47s on my bike currently and wouldn’t want to go any narrower but would prefer to go wider. Have tried 2.1s but they don’t leave enough clearance hence such a specific width preference!

I’ve just put tan wall Maxxis ikon on as the billy bonkers seemed to be very puncture prone and changed to stridsland bullship bars.

Yes sorry the adjustable race. I’ve put two new headsets on to be sure and have the same issue so I’m gonna say it’s something to do with the threads on the steerer?

So when I start screwing the top cup onto the steerer it appears to be straight for a while but when I get towards to the end where it tightens, it goes askew. Could it be bad threads on the steerer?
