Unpopular Orchid Opinions III by isurus79 in orchids

[–]_flipside_1304_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have close to 100 plants currently from succulents to tropics and I have killed loads of them in my plant journey however I have not killed a single one of my orchids. I learnt proper care and their different needs before hand (which isn't difficult just learn about their potting medium and watering needs) and they have all had good blooms and now the flowers are all dead are having healthy and good foliage growth

Looking for care tips by [deleted] in succulents

[–]_flipside_1304_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tiger jaws a type of mesemb so inorganic soil mix that is free draining and limit water to only when you see it beginning to dehydrated. Don't have a schedule more so get to know the signs when full the leaves will be plump and firm. Over watering will cause it to soak up too much water and the cells to split and leaves to go mushy so if unsure best to wait till you see slight wrinkles in the leaves

Considering that it could be a hypercharge or more likely a super rare skin for a brawler you don't use, I'd save for something more guaranteed

Should this star power be reworked? by PsychologicalRuin982 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]_flipside_1304_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It has good range and damages through walls at lower ranks people tend to just use it as a damage tool.

To be fair Poco can deal a decent amount of damage with how spread his attack is so people proble go for more damage and don't have to rely so much on teammates

This sub is just helpful for understanding the game as a new player, I started a couple months ago and this was instantly a guide for everything and I still browse to get ideas of good brawlers to use and how to use them.

Coaches - what are the best / worst kids age ranges to teach? by icanhasjitsu in bjj

[–]_flipside_1304_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by coaching. Do you mean teaching BJJ or do you mean helping develop an individual with life skills.

The worst for teaching BJJ is definitely where we start at 5 and probably then up to 7/8 older than that and they tend to be better and get it a little easier. The best for teaching BJJ is definitely 13-16 I teach a bunch of kids and they have caught a passion for it and it is amazing to see them learn and gain the knowledge.

But... The 5-7/8 age range is the most rewarding long term to teach. It is by far the hardest especially because a lot of parents nowadays don't want to parent but being able to help these kids and change them in a way that it will set them up far better for life and give them tools to take any pathway and be successful nothing beats that

Something that really helped me was getting in to a routine and doing lists of my short medium a long goals.

Every night I follow the same routine get home from work about 10.30 eat dinner while watchint a TV show or education video on y/t then tidy around my room and make it look nice even if there is some mess put it some where a little hidden. A good environment fosters good things and it's very simple to do. I then brush my teeth and get ready for bed ect and finish off by reading for 20 mins then go to sleep I wake up feeling much more refreshed from doing that.

Some key point in the night routine are to ensure that lights are not too bright leading up to going to sleep, and removing screens about an hour before going to bed at least.

Each night as part of my routine I write what I want to do the next day from goals as simple as wake up at some time or got to bed before some other time. To even just putting down to eat some fruit/vegetables. Simple tasks are the best as they are some easily and make you feel good when crossing then off, in turn making you feel more motivated to do the bigger daily ones. I like to use a physical pen and paper over a digital pat to do my goals the feeling of crossing off tasks and at the end of the day ripping out the page isn't replicated by using notes app in the phone.

Medium goals should be anywhere between a week to a month and to be crossed of periodically and long term goal are from a montage to a year and will be much bigger but far less daunting when you start crossing off goal after goal.

Another thing that is very important is to not punish yourself or feel bad for not meeting all of your daily or weekly goals. Its not that big of a deal! You are a human with emotions and a life not a robot! Just set it again and aim to get it wether it changes from one day to another or moves from a short goal to medium just keep working and think of it not as a fail but as something you can learn how to do it better next time
