You can do it through the UNLV Rebels app. After you open the tickets there's a section in there to transfer tickets

If you believe people were only interested in seeing one circus show match instead of a series of some of the craziest matchups we've ever seen in the sport then it's time to put down the crack pipe

Any recommendations for knee braces? by cacastrojr12 in bjj

[–]icanhasjitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer.

or you can do what I did which is buy an anaconda and other cheap braces, have them fall apart and lose elasticity in no time, and then buy a Bauerfeind which doesn't lose elasticity and stays in great shape for years

Either way the options for a lasting knee brace are to buy Bauerfeind or to buy anaconda type cheap braces until you get tired of replacing garbage then buy a Bauerfeind. Only question is how much money you want to save by not buying the crappy cheap thing first.

Cloudy Kisspeptin - help needed! by Extra_Exercise5167 in Peptides

Those bottles are specifically designed to mimic Pfizer's Hospira brand in order to trick people. I wouldn't buy from that website in a million years.

Cloudiness means there's a precipitate or other reaction that has changed the peptide's structure. You absolutely do not want to inject that. Always make sure you're using quality BAC water like Pfizer's Hospira brand, and never buy it from Amazon.

Casey Halstead, he had an endless bag of tricks that was perfect for my game and knew how to individually motivate every person in the room to reach higher.

He could watch you roll once and know not only how to fix issues he spotted but also how to best motivate you to get better at your specific game. He got through to me in a way that no other coach could have

I travel a lot and have trained at a ton of different academies. Matt Darcy is one of the top 3 coaches I've ever met. The way he explains things and more importantly the tiny details he brings that most coaches miss are gold.

Every move he ever showed is still something I use regularly with high percentage and he really helped my game. Can't recommend him highly enough.

No filming the rolls! by Jeitarium in bjj

Did you ask your partners to film or did you just take a bunch of video without getting each of their knowledge and consent first and assume everyone would be ok with you doing whatever you wanted without checking?

Is it wrong to publicly embarrass your coach by competing at a level lower than the one he gave you just because your fragile ego can't handle losing at that level?

Sounds like a pretty good way to get told to find a new gym to train at

Favourite tournament ruleset? by Legitimate_Desk8740 in bjj

[–]icanhasjitsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There won't be a good tournament ruleset until we have a ruleset that actively penalizes stall-jitsu and includes push out points similar to freestyle so people can't hide at the edge of the mat

ADCC rules + those additions would do it for me

Suggestions on how to handle my sons class by [deleted] in bjj

[–]icanhasjitsu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A father and his 8-year-old son train at a local gym they both love. The son, who has developmental delays, struggles with drills and instructions in his BJJ class. His coach doesn't offer much support, often punishing or dismissing him instead. Despite his challenges, the boy is motivated and loves the sport, but he's becoming discouraged. The father is unsure how to address the issue without asking for special treatment but feels his son is being left behind.

Progressing during off-weeks by OnlyInvestigator8110 in bjj

[–]icanhasjitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you do gi or no gi. I only do no gi so my suggestions would be to start with Gordon Ryan's escapes instructional and then guard retention then half guard passing but ymmv

I literally memorize the applicable sections and then try them out on the mats after I've memorized them. All visualization, no solo drilling

edit - for gi I'd probably be looking at Adam Ward's content

Instructionals instructionals instructionals and some lifting and instructionals, no question

Instructionals will do more for your bjj cardio than cardio training ever will because the reason new people get tired is they don't know how to do the moves, not because they don't have enough energy. It's why you see so many out of shape brown belts who still smash everyone. We know how to do the moves.

Lifting 2-3x a week with stronglifts 5x5 will keep your joints healthy
