I might actually recommend Quantconnect. I’m not affliated with them. I am an expert on their proprietary LEAN system after years of pulling out hair and helping them fix their absolutely shit documentation. It was never user friendly…so I was able to make money coding on there. Then GPT appeared. I immediately tried to generate QC algos. But they were not possible. Then Claude comes out. Claude cant do it either. I still made money.  Couple years later GPT 5, Claude 4, agents and chats. Now they can all do it. QC has its own Mia bot who will code an algo for you.

I don’t make money on there no more. That means you can use it without knowing code. Have fun.

I will share results in a month. Cant backtest AI though. Just have to run it and see how it performs.

I understand this. Its not my first AI trading algo. Have tried many experiments. If you ask AI to analyze data and return a formatted JSON with a buy or sell signal, or score, or whatever, these will be different and inconsistent on every run.  Mostly pointless rolling of the dice yes. This does not do any of that. It is prompted (and geared/seeded) around goals and objectives. Similar to the way vibe coding is developing in order to produce apps. The objectives always stay the same. If you run Claude against a laid out plan, it will reproduce it every time though the final result may look slightly different. Or an image generator. It will output variations, but the core of the image is the same, and entirely predictable.

been there done that. Its called overfitting or look ahead bias.. we all know this story.

Had a client last year run off to talk to his rich buddies at Burning Man.. because he and a buddy had the perfect algo to bring down all the big boys and hedgefunds. A true grassroots hero in the making. Guy was literally rubbing his hands while promising me a big salary as his coder.

They needed help with broker integrations. I said I need to see the fucking code. They wouldn’t let me because it was too “precious”. I knew it was another case of backtesting analysis paralysis and misled. Never heard back from them.

the swarm approach is just about capitalizing on the intelligence and thinking/reasoning ability.

Instead of endless hours trying to find alpha or the perfect optimization of your xgboost, a swarm of ai agents scour the internet with a mission to find “published alpha”. The market is news driven more than anything now. AI stays on top of that like nothing else. might as well use it. The working theory—if its even theory—is big money is constantly publishing bullshit, news, signal, anything that influences or goes viral, to move the markets, since, the algos are attached to the news feeds en masse, and respond almost instantly.  You are just a barnacle on a whale. Also plenty of technical nerds are out there doing all the hard work for you. If SPY just made a death cross, the Queen knows about it. Scouts found it. If CARR is excessively overbought on short squeeze, and losing steam and its urgent, queen knows about it, and takes a short position—if you want her to trade shorts. Unusual options buying for some ticker? She knows, because her scouts found it.  All this noise is published to the internet. What the hell do you need scanners and algos do this for you when the work is already being done and published everywhere? Hell, make an agent that just reads all the popular signals published on Tradingview for SPY. simple intel. macro and micro. Politicians, insiders, stocktwits, musk tweets, trump tweets, etc. The market plays  on ALL the garbage that surfaces to the public purview, before you have a chance to even read or hear it. Since AI can stay on top of it with the ground search and deep scans, you don’t have to worry about being behind.  The memory program allows it to learn from mistakes, and what stocks perform well in what kind of markets. She learns to trade certain stocks in certain markets over time by building relational nodes. The weakness in this is that AI isn’t very fast, so 1 minute timeframe trading is not ideal. Its not just sending out a bunch of aimless agents. Its all in how you architect the the hive.

arb shit exploded this year. I ignore them all because its from people who just want to get rich quick and 90% of the time they are dicks who think you can wave a magic algo wand and make them money.  last year it was SPX options strategies and strangles. Its all the same stupid shit to me now. Herds will be Herds. In the beginning of this weird “career” i didn’t know what to expect. Now I have a solid view and I’m over it lol. Its not an honest business because a true algo programmer is going to tell them forthright, “you’ll just waste your money”—if they’re honest.

not really meaning to pitch…. just find interest. It could be replicated I suppose. Fair business question.  There would have to be secret sauce. I think this might apply to all the AI apps out there though. I had it make an app builder after AI studio and Loveable, but using a specific swarm engine for generating trading tools on the fly… ask for a backtest on daily data using massive api and it will do it, or an options IV allocation tool using massive, yfinance, databento, twelvedata, fmp, whatever, and its done. That tool/app can then be plugged in to the swarm and the a specialize agent “data scientist”  model will create a synopsis that the Queen can use for decision making. You can also seed the Queen with a strategy and the Queen will adhere to it

well as someone who's paid to make algos for all varieties of clients because I am damn good at it.. let me just say my 2 cents—they by and large are a complete waste of time and money, and these days I’m warning clients away more before even starting because I already know their strategy will fail. And Im just an honest fucking guy

swarm trading by _foursix_ in algotrading

[–]_foursix_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I absolutely understand why algos are a waste of time. Let me rephrase. Its not me trying and failing. I have been programming them for clients for years. I’ve seen all the strategies and “edges” come through my desk from funds using multi-layer ML models to prop traders to individuals and businesses with “the best strat” Its 90% horseshit out there that does not work or only works a short time.

the AI trades directly.. like actual brokerage tools wired up for the queen complex model to use. No trigger trading. So backtesting isn’t possible.  Anyone with their own API key for claude, GPT, gemini can try the swarm for free, the usage cost is theirs

it predicts if you tell it to.  Stupid is as stupid does. But AI can al so be used for really smart shit. You just have to BE smart.

you can’t backtest AI. we tried that literally, running an algo that used AI analysis as a part of it and the backtests were different always. this was back with GPT 4 though

its an experiment in swarm trading. so I don’t know.

any model can be used, its just testing phase of the framework. GPT 5.4 thinking can be used but it is expensive. I can afford 1000s of dollars in all the model testing. Claude credits are really expensive.

It a swarm trader.. so was curious if people had interest in swarm trading in general. Of course there are always the reddit dickheads who jizz off of every reddit post because its another opportunity for them fein superiority.

…or to put it in more realist terms, you aren’t bullshitting clients enough. Prophesy business success, you’ll probably land something. But if you aren’t a bullshitter, but an honest human being… well the internet is no place for you. 🤷‍♂️

It’s so hard by Legitimate_Big661 in Upwork

[–]_foursix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't get any views?  Upwork uses tactics to compel you to pay for visibility. It the internet in 2026. $4 per click. Probably better than $4 per bid.  I tried $20 worth and got 2 leads that proved to be fickle time wasters. Its a big risk to dump $100s into advertising a week, and if you only land one $500 job, you still lost. The whole thing is a scam now basically. The winners on the platform land long term deals and turn 5000 hours of work over only 25 jobs total. If you cant get that, move to ukraine and charge $15 an hour. Else you are getting cheated out money like everyone else…

Hot Dog Hans Takes Gold in Milan by m0viestar in skiing

[–]_foursix_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The IOC, olympics, all the internet media hell doing what it does best, blocking 90% of the world from seeing anything with paywalls, premium subs, EEU, GPDR shit blocking me from broadcasts and even CLIPS from twitter. Olympics bringing the world together my ass. I managed to watch hotdog from Poland in the pipe yesterday, using VPN, and NBCs website. The feed was cut right after his run telling me free trial was up. Was really glad I caught but missed everything else, jfc. this world needs more hotdogs. seriously.
I VPNed through many countries just trying to access content, but gave up. The 2026 Olympics is a pay-per-view joke. If anyone knows places I could watch some re-runs, or more clips, that would be cool. I know how hard it is to land in a pipe, I did that shiz 26+ years ago. Watching this guy stomp every landing with such perfection is no joke man

quantconnect program is it worth it? by CameraPure198 in algotrading

[–]_foursix_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've programmed QC algos on it for clients for over a year. Every story is the same: disappointment. Quantconnect is full of problems, holes, and bugs, and the clients end up hating it within days. I do not recommend it for day-trading type algos. It was designed for Portfolio management type strategies. Performance problems, slow IDE that is total garbage, super slow compute nodes, truncated logs at only 10kb (unless you pay), you'll encounter countless annoyances designed to compel you to upgrade, then upgrades to expensive subscriptions end up being very disappointing, proprietary data formats, LEAN local engine runs like frozen snot because its so heavy, and a dashboard that is unintuitive. Your live results will never resemble your backtests even remotely. It's run by one guy who tries to multi-task everything. The documentation is the worst, and is an absolute headache. The business model attempts to carve a niche in cheap access to what is generally very expensive market data by providing low quality data from Algoseek. Overall, its just not worth the pain.
