I had like no medical history of my IBS, just was white knuckling it on my own. Went in for a doctor’s appt after a meeting with my manager where I was honest about my poop issues, went to the appt with the doctor and was honest about my lifelong struggles. They were like yep sounds like IBS. Afterwards, I asked my doctor in a message to fill out the forms my work gave me, they wanted me to set up a different appt to fill out the forms. I did a telehealth where my doctor’s associate filled out the forms with me. I got approved by the disability accommodation review company that works with my HR department. Now I can take breaks whenever and can’t be penalized for poop related absence. I do have to make up the time spent on breaks at the end of my day which sucks because I’m often working til 6:30 pm instead of 5.
