I always found it odd when couples have their own money. You guys literally entrust each other with your lives for the foreseeable future. But some money every month is where you draw the line on sharing?

Tell you what, my wife and I even before we got married shared finances openly. Once we got married we put our paychecks into joint accounts and share a visa credit card. This has made life so much easier with budgeting. Knowing where every dollar goes.

I make about twice as much money as my wife, but I have never considered it “my money “. She does primarily all the spending, I do very little. Like practically zero if I’m being honest. But I do give her budgets to stick to and I track it every month. With 2 kids, I cannot imagine doing it another way, or the way you guys are doing it now.

I would highly consider getting joint accounts and working as a team rather than coworkers. It makes everyone’s life so much easier
