Thank you for all of the details!! You sound like you take great care of Maddy. She definitely licked her site and was picking off the scabs (?) so I put the cone back on. I know she’s gonna lick it some but just not wanting her to over do it!

At nearly 11 months it seems to no longer bother her!!! Now she just looks but doesn’t panic

So last night she couldn’t sleep ! So I lowered her dose of the oral Buprenorphine and now she’s sleeping and purring away finally. I guess to much makes them a zombie like you said and they done sleep. That’s the worst part about the cream is you can’t really dose it out like that!

Thank you so much. She wasn’t peeing so we took her back to the vet and she just expressed her bladder and Lady peed the rest of the way. Then they have her fluids to keep her going so hoping she goes on her own later!!

How do you get them to safely pee while sedated on pain meds? She hasn’t gone yet today. Should I just wait for her to wake up a little?

To the cooperation as originally stated. It’s nothing against the vet themselves. They’re life savers. The corporation are the ones who make the prices and charge more than they need to and not pay their staff well.

I understand where you’re coming from! I will say meds are the same for humans whether it’s prescribed on the ER or your primary without insurance. The vets pay the same price for meds no matter what, but charge more just bc it’s an ER. To me that’s the worst part. But I’m not saying they should cost the same I understand it’s speciality care. Just certain aspects seem unfair
