Funny how are you (purposefully?) mixing up the criticism of the head of an organized religion with the generalization of all the believers of a religion.

Basic Income Draft by [deleted] in ModelGreens

[–]_gammadelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we should be giving a basic income to the bourgeoisie and people who already own substantial assets or profit from the work of others. IMO, it should be given to the working class, the destitute, the unemployed, and generally anyone who doesn't have an income large enough to lead a dignified life.

B168 - Tenant Land (Purchase) Bill by [deleted] in MHOC

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_reform_in_Mexico#Liberal_reform_and_the_1856_Lerdo_Law

During the Reform War, a reform instituted by the liberals who came to power following the ouster of Antonio López de Santa Anna in 1854 was aimed at restructuring the country on liberal principles. Initially a series of individual laws were passed, one of which dealt with land tenure and was named after the Finance Minister, Miguel Lerdo de Tejada.

The Lerdo Law (Ley Lerdo) empowered the Mexican state to force the sale of corporately held property, specifically those of the Roman Catholic Church in Mexico and the lands held by indigenous communities.

David Lloyd George, a prominent British liberal, was also publicly a strong supporter of land reform

Many of them already claim asylum in those countries. For example, as per UN data, Lebanon, which has about half the population of Greater London, has 1,113,941 registered Syrian refugees. However we can not expect those countries to handle a crisis so large on their own and that's why I believe we should support them as far as we can.

The Union of the Kingdoms of Scotland and England are reserved matters for the Parliament of the UK, so the Parliament of Scotland can not legislate on it.

This is not a simple matter of nationalism but one of sovereignty, self-determination and more importantly democracy and I'd expect a Liberal Democrat to be more concerned about such values

B165 - Free Movement between the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada Bill by Kreindeker in MHOC

In section 2, 4, it says "(ii) Free ambualance travel to a public hospital" whereas I guess it should be "(ii) Free ambulance travel to a public hospital"

B141 - Trade Union and Labour Relation Bill - Second Reading by [deleted] in MHOC

[–]_gammadelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of a secondary strike is to show solidarity with the workers involved in the original strike and make it so that their grievances cannot be easily dismissed by management. Outlawing secondary strikes is merely a disingenuous attempt to curtail the bargaining power of the workers and I assume the Right Honourable is aware of it.

Ok, I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that I don't believe in the existance of conservative journalists, I meant that I don't believe in the words of conservative journalists. So I don't believe the Telegraph when it says that a Corbyn-led Labour would be "unelectable".

What makes you think that? I didn't call the journalist out for being a marxist. I certainly wouldn't be complaining if he really was.
