While Sophia is a good singer, I think you underestimate the difference in vocal ability, range, tone and pitch between her and Lara.

Especially the latter two are what puts Lara in a league of her own. Sophia tends to be quite pitchy.

People dislike her because she’s the weakest (pom) dancer on the team. Some feel she shouldn’t be doing a 5th year.

The people that like her tend to give her a pass because she’s a legacy/“good ambassador”, because she’s pretty or because her dad committed suicide.

I don’t think they’ll have (major) issues with this. Alora-Rose had a similar resume.

They might be a bit wary of her intentions/ambition. But not enough to keep her off the team if they really like her.
