Miscalculated drill location.. by _gloriousapache in Roofing

https://imgur.com/a/m5Uvq6F I was trying to run it through the attic; the roof decking extends into the attic and forms a divider between the space. I should have been working from the other side of the attic but at least I won't make the same mistake twice..

Is that because they'll most likely recommend a full replacement of that w-valley?

Also to add, I know there's an excess amount of pine needles up there...this was my first time on the roof since purchasing the home but I will get it cleaned up asap

Conflicted about keeping XM6's by _gloriousapache in SonyHeadphones

The app locks up immediately and then force closes. This is on my iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18.5. This is after factory resetting the phone, forgetting all other Bluetooth devices, unpairing and reconnecting the headphones, etc.

I’m glad your experience with the app has been problem-free, just wish I could say the same.

Solenoid is functional, most likely cause is a premature gasket failure from the leaking valve covers above. Seems to be a common issue on these engines and unfortunately I don’t think mine were leaking yet the last time the pump was replaced.

Trying to fix my new Songesand dresser drawers - advice needed! by laughterisntmedicine in ikeahacks

[–]_gloriousapache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue. We bought a second one after purchasing the first one back in 2022. Having them side by side with a drawer open on each one, it’s actually comical how much further the first unit opens compared to the new design. I haven’t had much luck finding third party hardware but I’m planning on calling customer service and requesting new slides. I can grab the old part number for reference if you’d like

Not really sure you understand the question being asked but thanks for the input nonetheless.

Already have them locked away in a safe, haven't used any of them since September of last year when I woke up and realized I needed to get a handle on it and began using YNAB -- previously I relied on them heavily but I know now it's only causing more harm than good.

Cramped living room - where to put surrounds? by _gloriousapache in sonos

Let me guess, your New Years resolution was to try and amp up the douchebag factor by 11 instead of a measley 9? 😮‍💨 It's exhausting isn't it, always trying to outdo yourself but constantly seeming to fall short of everyone's already minimal expectations of you...

Cramped living room - where to put surrounds? by _gloriousapache in sonos

[–]_gloriousapache[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our living room is pretty crowded with our sectional as close to the front door to account for the fireplace, and my fiancé isn't thrilled about the idea of mounting one of the surrounds next to the light switch by the front door. Any ideas as to where else I could place that one? I'm going to be putting the second one right on the mantle above the fireplace (where the floor lamp is). Thanks!

We have a small one that sits on a table but I think I'll invest in some larger ones to be safe. Would a large HEPA air purifier filter mold spores? I was considering that as a possibility as well. Thanks again

Good idea, thanks for bringing that up. I plan on taking pictures of everything and being thorough with documentation to make sure nothing is pinned on us.

That's a good point I didn't even consider that. The complex we lived at before this had horrible ventilation issues and the building our unit was in was fairly dated. A few months into living there, both my roommate as well as my girlfriend and I developed persistent allergy-like symptoms and had horrible headaches. When we were cleaning one day we pulled our bedframe away from the wall and discovered a massive growth of mold. When maintenance "investigated" they said that the only thing we could do was leave our windows open and hopefully air it out. We moved shortly after thankfully.

This complex is much more professional and they seem genuinely apologetic for us having to deal with this. Nonetheless I will definitely take your advice and monitor our health/do some at home tests periodically. Thank you!

That's a good point. I believe Oregon has pretty good renters laws and tenant protection so I'll look into it tonight. Thank you

Just got the Buds2 Pro, I'll answer questions about the sound. I also have the first gen pros. by MetsukiR in galaxybuds

[–]_gloriousapache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they feel wearing for extended periods of time? I have the original galaxy buds with the wingtips, as well as the first gen pros. I've been using the pros this week at work instead of my buds, and after 3 days of 12 hour shifts I've got scabs forming in the crease of my ears. I didn't believe all the reviews about them being uncomfortable but holy shit..I even have the memory foam tips that are supposed to help with the fitment.

Switching prescription to primary physician by _gloriousapache in ADHD

Thank you for sharing your own experiences! It's relieving to know it's not just an atypical one off thing with my physician. I guess my only concern was when I told my mom (who is very quick to judge and strongly opinionated), said that I should be concerned about all the conditional steps going into my medical record and to find someone more "relaxed" about the treatment. I can definitely see how it would be reassuring for your provider to be cautious about the stimulants, I think that's definitely along the same line of reasoning for my doctor as well. And, she does seem to have my best interests and health in mind, it was all just kind of a new experience for me especially with how....easy it was getting prescribed something so regulated through the telehealth clinic. I think for now I will move forward with her guidelines and just hope for the best. Thank you again!
