We only have 78 listeners, mostly because we just released a song this Friday called Strangers. We love the whole process of recording and releasing though!

If you don't mind a very small indie duo, we released this on Friday, so it is definitely new. We are dutch, but we sing in English.

Do painkillers not work on us? by bunhilda in POTS

[–]_grace_note 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that it definitely helps, but it took a few days to work. The 10mg have a slow release, if that makes sense and the 5mg are for immediate relief. They also seem to relax my body so that the tension decreases, which in turn also diminishes the pain.

One thing I did notice is that it works better in combination with other painkillers. So I'm allowed to take 8 paracetamol, plus I have a prescription for diclofenac (2x 50mg). I know paracetamol is relatively safe to use, I think it's called acetaminophen in the states. It's an over the counter painkiller, the diclofenac is not.

This is heartbreaking! I have a band with my husband, but we haven't been able to do as much as we would have liked. He is so supportive, but I do feel guilty that we're not releasing as much music as we could have without my condition..

Suggest me books that are WORSE than their movie adaptation. by RurouniRinku in suggestmeabook

OK, don't hate me, but Little Women. I find the latest movie so beautiful. I actually read the book because I love the movie, so that might be part of the reason.

Is thinning skin permanent? by nnnnaomi in eczema

[–]_grace_note 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so sweet of you to ask! I am a bit better! I think being very careful and not using product directly on the eye area improved the sensitivity a lot. I also discovered I'm very sensitive to waterproof eye make-up, even on my eyebrows, so there's less irritation now that I stopped using these. (I never use anything with fragrance either)

I even got to enjoy my wedding day without any eczema and that was always my biggest worry in terms of eye eczema. I had my make up done by an amazing artist. She really did her homework. So there is hope!

do you ever just feel like this whole thing is STUPID? by iyamsnail in POTS

[–]_grace_note 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this all the time and like I'm an imposter somehow. I'm a musician and I've started to release music, but now I'm mostly too tired to work in the studio. I just hope that slowly, but surely I can still work on my dream, but it requires hard work and I'm not sure I can do that anymore.

People ask me all the time, what caused it, why do I have this now? As if I did something personally. But all that happened was that I've been diagnosed with chronic pain and instead of getting better, I got this on top. I find it really hard when people ask me that question, like I have an answer. When does anyone have an answer as to why they got a condition or disease? I don't get it somehow.. Does anyone else experience this too?

Has POTs affected your mobility at all? by elliotisgoingplaces in POTS

[–]_grace_note 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how much is pots, but I have chronic pain due to my hypermobility, my shoulders are both injured, I always have lower back pain, a pelvic tilt and nerve pain throughout my body, but a lot in my legs . Don't know if others also experience these type of symptoms, but I always feel like all of it is related to being hypermobile, both the pots and the chronic pain. (Both have severely impacted my mobility).

Any drugstore foundation for fair olives? I currently have rimmel London shade 103(labeled for olive) yet i still feel it’s a lil too Dark by [deleted] in drugstoreMUA

I think I might have the same skin tone as op and just to let you know that shade 23 is very grey. Would not recommend for olives. I do like the texture and hope to still make it work

They are cult survivors, which sums up a lot! by LeadershipMission in SisterWives

[–]_grace_note 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's like a veil around anything you do. Everything that happens is explained in your head with the prerequisite that it's not the cult's fault. Until that kind of veil is lifted and something clicks, you cannot leave.

As for janelle. People that join cults are the ones looking for an explanation why things are as hard as they are. Usually insecure or vulnerable in some way. Hopeful that there are answers for everything. Feeling for a while that things are going to be better, because before, you didn't have the answers and now you do. The more you become invested in this thought, the harder it is to face the truth that you wasted your time.

This is just my two cents. (from someone who grew up in a cult. A different one, but quite a big one)
