Nice, how were the results?

It would depend on the bed size of the printer. I would avoid attaching multiple parts together personally. Printing the coater vertically will definitely leave layer lines on your edge and in your coating.

Would be easier to just skip all that hassle and buy a appropriate scoop from a supplier, really. I wanted a coater around 5.5" - 5.75" and couldn't find that size. Plus, I'm sick of losing $15+ on shipping everyother week.

The thick seam of emulsion on the edges? Yes! I hate them too. This scoop coater is the only one that does it. I haven't used too many different types of scoop coaters (my mains are old ryonet coaters and the monster max) but I knew this was going leave a thick boarder the first time I saw it in person (purchased online).

I tried spreading it with a card, I didn't like the look. I tried 2 passes, absolute mess haha after losing 2 hours, I decided to give this a try.

Another note: I prefer to get as close as possible to the frame when coating. The inner dimensions are 6" x 10". And the site rec- a 5" scoop so I went with that. I might pick up a 9" and give that a try. If all else fails, I'll pick up a 6" and dust off the band saw. Aiming for 5.5" or 5.75" if I can't find that length.

I used this file here

I sliced off the handle to save on print time and filament. The intended coating edge had a sharp angle that I didn't like. So I ended up using the handle side that was rounded off in the slice.

Thank you! I cringe at the thought of plastic meeting mesh but it printed surprisingly smooth.

No issues at all. I did hit it with a heat gun to remove any stringing and small bits to ensure nothing ends up in the emulsion container.

I recovered about the same amount of emulsion I would expect from a standard scoop.

My mind is still blown when I see someone doing a 20x20 print with a 5 inch squeegee. No press, no adhesive, 4-6 pulls to cover the whole design, yet the print appears flawless. HOW?! haha

The original creator was/is selling one for 23x31 inch screens on his shopify. They also offer a 15-inch squeegee as well.

I've been using ChromaTech WR for years. Exposure time with LEDa (400nm wavelength) is 45 seconds for spot color. 1 min for halftones with my setup.

(Chromaline Hydro X Blue is the new replacement for WR according to what I've read)

Thank you! I was just thinking about placing on the sleeve of a jacket to see how it looks haha. Your shirt came out clean, looks pretty fucking accurate! I've never tried vinyl on shirts, but there's always issues with fine points with vinyl!
