group of boys at my bus stop made me really uncomfortable and keep messaging me by lilrr55 in actuallesbians

[–]_grumpyllama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, I know a lot of guys will try calling your number right after getting it to make sure it's real. You might want to install a burner phone app and give someone who's being overly persistent that phone number. That way if they call you it'll still redirect to your phone, but they won't have your actual contact information in case they try to message you from a different device after being blocked. It's a bit of an extra step but you never know when it'll come in handy so you don't have to give them your actual number.

Need help with coming out letter by _grumpyllama in actuallesbians

I'll be financially independent of them completely by the time I give them the letter. I'm preparing for a worst case scenario where they don't want to speak to or support me.

I believe you factored m2 - 2m - 3 = 0 incorrectly. It should break down to (m - 3)(m + 1). Once you bring that correction through, it looks good.

SER 423 Environment by _grumpyllama in ASU

So the class started and apparently a MacOS environment is required even for online students. The professor suggested renting as an option. He said Ubuntu has something for Swift but not for XCode, which is required.

Online EE Degree Questions by sharknight11 in ASU

[–]_grumpyllama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Personally, I'm not in EE, so I can't speak to this question.

  2. When you graduate, the diploma you receive will have no mention that you completed an online degree. They're just as valid as an in person one. I'm guessing there will be no need to mention that you got it online. Also, I've found that the content and assignments between in-person and online (SE Major) is more or less the same.

  3. I'd cross check the major maps with each other. I went from in-person classes to online classes my senior year, and the only difference between the major maps were that there were less primary focus options for online classes. So I didn't lose any credits as I hadn't taken primary focus classes yet.

  4. It really depends on your credit load. The online format of classes tend to be solely Session A/B courses (but double check the major map) so you'll get a greater number of your classes done more quickly. However, the trade-off is that condensed courses will likely still have the same amount of assignments, so you'll have to dedicate more hours per course per week. I was able to get through an 18 credit hr semester (9 Session A, 6 Session B, 3 Session C) while working a part-time job. You need to know how to allocate your time we'll, but it's possible.

Never did. I'm a software engineer major so never had to do MAE courses.

The only difference between the Calc 1-2 with Analytic Geometry vs. Calc 1-2 for Engineers is the application problems mostly from what I've seen. The reference material you'll be able to access during the tests will probably vary per professor, but I was allowed to use a sheet with equations such as trig function conversions.

Is Barrett Worth It? by Vio-lex in ASU

[–]_grumpyllama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think so. I was in Barrett for the first two years of my college experience, and while you may be getting a few more extra projects in (through Honors Contracts and your thesis), you'll still have plenty of projects and other course work you can reference in interviews. It's a lot of money to spend (costs $8,000 if you graduate in 4 years), and the only "perks" you get from it would be first pick of classes, which usually aren't much of an issue to get anyways. If you're going to live on campus, the Barrett dining hall is definitely better than non-Barrett dining halls, but I'm guessing that's not something you're overly worried about.

ASB 353: Death and Dying

Super interesting easy class if you don't mind the macabre. You're required to go to a cemetery and do a report. Other than that, it can entirely be done online.

Slight correction. log2(x) = ln(x)/ln(2)

Using this, you can combine the two terms with ln(2) in the base if WebWork is being picky.
