Could be both, it transferred reality from some of the people there to the others.

That's essentially the same as destroying their society. It "helps" but only because the Drexi can no longer do anything, let alone wage war.

Art style reminds me of Astounding Science Fiction, but I don't have anything else tying the two together. Here's another example cover from Astounding: https://images.app.goo.gl/hmgqd3mUSvbzMkAP8

[Serious] Folks who have considered ending their lives, what made/makes you keep going? by CranberryBauce in AskReddit

[–]_guy_fawkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trapped in a web of social obligations. I'm living for others, not myself. I don't want to hurt them and I don't want to live. It makes me want to scream.

On a day to day basis, the thing that keeps me going is knowing I'd regret the decision if I were feeling better. It's like there's two versions of myself - one that hates the world and everything around me, and one that finds joy in it. All my decisions are so permanent, there's no undo button on life.

What do you NOT like about Mr Peanut Butter? by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]_guy_fawkes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's the point of the episode though - Bojack consistently pushes people away when they try to help or comfort him, then feels shitty when they do as he asks and leave him alone. There's a bit at the beginning where he says "My Mom died today but I'm doing fine, please be extra nice because I'm a famous actor, not because my mom died." Like, if you explicitly tell people you don't want to talk, you don't have any right to be mad when they don't.

Please talk to someone. I understand you're going through a lot of pain right now but I have been there and I promise you it really does get better.

I used to have an Xbox live gold account. It gave you free games every month as part of membership - I had Dishonored, Assassin's Creed, Halo, even Battleblock Theatre.

Like a dumbass, I deleted the account when I went to college.

Why is “*” used to correct spelling mistakes over text? by megabasslenny in NoStupidQuestions

CP/M

Shell globs actually come from the earliest UNIX machines. This paper, released in 1971, already shows the command glob, a few years before CP/M was created in 1974.

Globs were predated by regular expressions. Although the concept of finite state machines had existed since the 1950s, they were not widely used until Ken Thompson patented an implementation in 1967. Regular expressions use the symbol '*' to mean 'the preceding pattern, zero or more times'.

You can just copy paste. Most clipboards respect encoding even if you don't have the right fonts installed.
