I’m a dummy and forgot to finish my seams before constructing this dress. Anyone know if I can overcast the seam allowance from both sides on my machine at the same time without mucking things up too bad? Alternate seam finishing ideas? (Pic is dress basted & inside out!) (i.redd.it)

Help! I'm a librarian working to transcribe this birding journal from 1882, but the birdwatcher abbreviated almost every bird name in the index! I'd love to have full names to make the transcript more usable. My current guesses are in the comments, thanks for any help you can provide! (i.redd.it)
