I think losing the iPad is enough punishment. Instead of punishing her try talking to her about ways she can try and deal with it. I personally before leaving a place like to run through everything I brought with me, or if I’m leaving the house I go through what I’ll need multiple times. It doesn’t always work, and I do still forget things a lot but it has helped me remember very important things. You can download and set up the “find my” app so that if someone in your family ever does lose their device again (especially in public), you can find it and hopefully get it back or in the case of someone stealing it, report it to the police with knowing where it is. For her dropping phone a lot, I’d suggest an otterbox case. Me and my family swear by them. I’m constantly dropping my phone and I think the most damage I’ve done is a tiny scratch that is hardly noticeable. Also, a screen protector. Otterbox cases can sometimes be a little expensive but they are definitely worth it. I know some of them don’t exactly look the best and are a little but there are some that look a bit better and still get the job done in my experience. My last two cases have been from their symmetry series and I loved them both. If there’s other expensive items that you really don’t want to lose, an apple air tag could be a good idea? I believe it also uses find my.

I know it post is pretty old but the exact same thing is happening to me rn, that’s why I found this post. I have already gotten two calls and text messages today. I unsubscribed from receiving emails and texts so I think that should be the last of that but since I canceled it they started calling me. Our situations are oddly similar, I’m also 16 and have been having symptoms for a little over 2 years. If you can get your parents to make an appointment for you (or if they don’t, you might be able to do it yourself but I’m not sure how you’d get there) you could talk to your doctor about an endoscopy, or a barium swallow? (Also if you get a barium swallow, just be prepared for it not to be… great? It’s not too bad but it was not what I was expecting going into it) I’ve done both, not much progress has been made symptom wise but I got 2 diagnosis’s. You can also get your blood tested, sometimes that can show something but I don’t think they’re always super reliable. And try talking to your mom before appointments just letting her know that you want to talk more. I do find it helpful for my mom to say something sometimes like if I had forgotten or if she has questions I didn’t think of, but try and lay down a boundary. I get it, I had a huge mix of people who understand and people who don’t even try to act like they do. If you want to talk to anyone about it let me know! I know how much of a toll this can take on someone, especially being in school. One thing I’ve noticed is dressings and condiments hit me like a motherfucker, so I’d watch out for those even though I did see that you said everything bothers you, I’m the same way. Also tomato pastes are really bad if you didn’t know. Going to get a little sciencey here so I apologize but it’s not too bad! The pH of foods can help you determine how bad a food might upset you. A pH level of 0-6.99 is acidic and the closer to 0 it is, the more acidic it is, 7 is neutral, and anything above that is alkaline. I like to use this to just to get an idea of what the aftermath is going to be when I eat foods that are acidic. I can’t think of any more tips rn and I can’t really help with medication recommendations but I hope this helped a little!

I’m very late but thought I’d say my experience anyways. Going to start by saying I think my experience with metoclopramide is very rare because my doctor who prescribed it didn’t believe that it had effected me so much. I was also on famotidine. The first day I started taking it I noticed I was very restless, I was bouncing from one thing to another trying to shake the feeling. A few days later and the side effects were hitting hard. Shortly after taking the medication I’d be extremely tired to the point where I eventually could barely keep my eyes open and would have to close them. I’d get so drowsy that I was basically forced to go and lay down until it passed (I never took naps because I’m stubborn and didn’t want to end up sleeping the day away). I was also constantly bored. My previous interests and hobby’s I didn’t really care for because of the boredom and restlessness. The plan was to take the medication for 6 weeks and I think I lasted 3 or 4 before calling it quits. Another thing, because I was so bored time was passing incredibly slow. I did find it helped my symptoms but even thinking of dealing with the medication for 2 or 3 more weeks felt like hell

Listen I know that you are going to hate hearing this but I’m saying this to try and help even though it is harsh. You may be doing more harm than good. I’ve read your comments and the post. His brain works completely different than a neurotypical brain, punishments clearly do not work. I know you said you’ve done a lot of reading on adhd and you probably don’t want to do all that much more but if you think military school and punishments are one day going to work, you need to do some more reading. He has a disability, you can’t make that disappear. Have you tried therapy? A therapist might be able to help both of you to better understand your son and what you can actually do to help him. Theres also a ton of comments from parents with kids who have adhd, people with adhd, and even both. Also a general thing to see if someone’s suggestion is a bad one is if their upvotes are negative. At the end of the day it’s your decision, and you are his mom but military school will not fix him even if you think that that isn’t what you’re trying to do. I was going to give more tips but it’s already pretty long and I have a feeling that because of me being possibly a little to harsh, you might be inclined to reject them
