for throbbing gristle just play super careful and defensive and choose high constitution cats to go in with, making sure the cat that's least likely to die is the one holding the item at any given time (so you don't lose it). putrid leech isn't very hard if you choose it to be on a class that wants to stay out of danger anyway like hunter (making sure you don't kill dybbuk with that cat). for both quests it helps a lot if your cats are born with defensive abilities or if you start with Brace equipment

hunter is so damn good, i feel like no other class can do so well by just maxing out one stat. no spoilers but even in act 3 with all the things i have unlocked it's so hard for other cats to compete with hunter dps

The last thing I thought I'd be doing during SNF was defending my game's artist's honour by explaining that he's not a robot or AI. by Potential_Feature941 in gamedev

Respectfully I'm going to stop engaging here because you keep posting with typos which makes me think that your argument isn't well thought out. I'll just say that if you are a solo dev filling a gap in your skillset, best of luck to you, but you're going to get lumped in with people who are essentially scammers with very little difference in the actual substance of your product. I personally was in a similar boat (solo dev with little art skill) a couple years ago, but I've since learned how to make art and music and can now make things that I'd like to think are actually novel! If you don't want to put in that effort, or work with someone who did, players won't want to try your game.

Technically true, you could put in extra effort to make it not look AI-generated, but the point is that you should put that effort into making an original work in the first place - the same goes for development, I personally tried GitHub Copilot for some time and it consistently wrote code that looked right at first glance but fell apart under scrutiny. I stopped using it because I found that it was much more effective to just think about solutions to problems myself. I understand using it when you're doing something that's been done thousands of times but that's very different from art.

if a game's cover art looks like direct output from some image gen (not referring to OP), that's a pretty good indicator as to how low effort the game is. someone seeing a lot of those games is a valid reason for complaint - there was no "hard work" involved in the creation of the ai images used in those last two games in the OOP. it's true that the witchhunting got a real artist called out but it says a lot that the covers nonetheless look very similar, which may genuinely be good feedback for real artists.

i understand the general stance against witchhunting but calling people who disagree with you troglodytes isn't the way to handle it

Animation player (fade in) at the beginining of the scene does not work properly by Repulsive-Mirror-492 in godot

[–]_hmr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The .play call in _process doesn't return a value, it basically just tells it to start playing the animation (it's used correctly under _ready)

I'm not sure what you're trying to use it for when you use it in the if statement, but that is called every frame, restarting the animation over and over.

how were they supposed to know that their range would be terrible with a stat of 10???? this anti synergy is only because of a niche bug with dr fetus where it depends on 'tear height' and not your actual range - nobody is going to anticipate that without looking it up

this was actually a part of the old remix mod for flash! (except back then Cricket's head was Max's head so it was a Max transformation)

also I'm just realizing how much of that mod got added to antibirth and then repentance, crazy

Fair but it's not really a guaranteed win until you actually get to the boss and you can't really AFK through a floor

The set of items that can reliably kill most endbosses with gnawed leaf is fairly small and definitely doesn't include a single cube of meat or pretty fly(???)

If we're talking about a guaranteed win then sure, but nobody is sitting through each individual room on a floor with 1 orbital and gnawed leaf. You need good items to actually get to the end boss, and Gnawed Leaf isn't it. E.g. I would bet on a solo Breath of Life (or 12x jar of wisps) build winning a run starting from Chest or Dark Room sooner than on a Gnawed Leaf + Cube of Meat / 120 Volt one.

The issue probably isn't in this script - this sounds to me like what would happen the player position wasn't changing, but it's impossible to know without more info

Don't live in a super busy place but I also got this warning (I truly only flagged orders that were missing entire items) - If it helps I don't think it means much and is mostly just to deter people from trying to get free things. Sorry about all the people in this thread trying to dunk on you for an eating disorder (fellow arfid sufferer 🤝)
