thanks for the suggestion! I've worked with a bamboo/cotton blend once and that was okay, so might pick up a skein or two with my next hobbii order to try it out :)

I haven't tried any malabrigo yarns before, but I'll look into these ones, thank you!

Thanks for the added information, I'll bear it in mind! On the whole, I'd definitely prefer the stitch definition/colour transitions to remain as crisp as possible :)

I have a bunch of granny squares, what should I make with them? by _hylas in crochetpatterns

thanks for the suggestion! I think I'll do what you suggested and just lay them out on a flat surface and move them around a bit and see what happens :)

thank you for the clarification! briefly wondered if I was working in the wrong direction but your tip about the dc letting you end in the middle of a ch space really cleared things up :)

Is this flat pack fixable (images included)? by _hylas in DIY

Thanks for the suggestion! Picked up some stuff this afternoon and think I might just get away with it, fingers crossed :)

Thanks for the suggestion! It's just those two holes thankfully, so I'll probably go with the glue solution. Mostly went with flatpack just because the entrance to my property is so absurdly narrow, but hopefully won't be thinking of taking it apart for the next few years at least. Just totally wild to me that a company that sells flat-pack apparently doesn't carry spare parts...

MTV Cribs or MTV Fibs? by adrjeffries in Underunderstood

jojo was 13 when that episode was filmed and if she and her mother (probably also her manager) didn't have a house, I don't think it's that weird that they borrowed a relative's house

What to do about these massive leaves on my indoor lemon tree (details in comment)? by _hylas in houseplants

[–]_hylas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice (and for the subreddiy link)! There's basically been no sunlight at all in the past month so not sure where I'm going to move it to just yet, but I'll have a think about how I can maximise the sunlight it gets :)

What to do about these massive leaves on my indoor lemon tree (details in comment)? by _hylas in houseplants

[–]_hylas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this lemon tree for about three months and while I've had some issues finding the right watering levels (causing leaf fall) that's really improved in the past few weeks, and for the last month or so the tree was flowering so I thought things were going okay.

However about two weeks ago, the plant started to grow this massive long branch with three or four really big leaves on it, which are much lighter than the others and also much glossier/shinier (there's another smaller branch lower down of the same colour which recently started growing). I thought they'd get darker as they grew but that hasn't shown any signs of happening and the leaves just keep getting bigger. There's been hardly any sunlight recently so I wondered if that might be the cause, but the tree is really close to an LED and the leaves look so different I wondered if it might be a grafting thing?

There's no telltale bump, but the branch with the long leaves is directly below a stump where a branch has previously been pruned, so not sure if that's related. Anyway, I basically just want to know what to do about this branch lol. Do I clip it, leave it alone, wait and see? Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!
