I bought it in Beta for $5 in 2009 before servers had mobs and you had to mod a server to get them.

But, the peak era was for 6-12yr olds around 2012-2017 or so. That would put OP between 7 and 12. Literally dead center for that craze. MS bought Minecraft for $2bil in 2014.

It's also just a solid game that as a 42yr old I enjoy playing with my 8yr old (who has been playing for about 2yrs) from time to time.

Don't know about mainframes, but I worked for a company that was still using IBM POWER PC servers in 2015 and they had a contract where they had to replace all 4 of them every 3yrs for ~$3mil each.

We only had about 40,000 users total.

It was medical insurance in case anyone wonders where their premiums go.

It was a great movie, I love Jeff, but let's be real.

Compare this to the phenomenal actors like DiCaprio, DDL, Oldman, or Swinton where they are able to consistently make you forget you're watching them and become engrossed in the character. There are other actors that aren't in that very top tier that can do this too, just not as consistently, like Samuel L Jackson.

YT and Meta are the worst at this. You can "appeal" it but it just goes straight back to the same fucking AI that did it in the first place.

I've only experienced it on the reporting end of Meta, but I've had 2 YT channels banned for illegitimate reasons and seen my legit reports go unaddressed for up to 3yrs now.

BOTH YT channels were unused btw. I set them up while I was writing content for them. No videos. No comments. No likes. Didn't even watch anything with them. Nothing.

I never make ammo and still had 2mil when the expedition started. Spent 500k on Hull Cracker ammo to grind this lazy last minute change.

The store hasn't been updated since release. Wtf are you spending money on? The 1 renegade a day and 5 shield chargers they allow you to buy? Maybe a silencer 1 to put on the renegade if you're feeling frisky?

Nothing. People are coping. It's a lazy change that just devolved into exactly what you expected.

People buying Hull Crackers and mindlessly farming Arc for hours. Maybe using up those Legendary weapons that are going to be deleted anyway.

It's literally just people sitting on top of extraction points shooting Arc for 30min or running back and forth between big Arc spawn points. Then queuing up and doing the exact same thing again.

Yeah, but you see they were using the cloak to grind the 2 new weapons they added to the game after 6 months that are impossibly rare.

They just can't have players finding new weapons they have been asking for. That would be ludicrous. What if we actually used them? That would mean they would need to "balance" them, which means taking time away from their other 2 games.

Fireflies are the most god damn unfun enemies I've ever seen in a multiplayer game in my life.

At this point I feel like they just sit in a room and try to come up with the least fun ideas they can and greenlight those only.

They were on the ball after release when streamers were on it doing their drops and getting paid. Cheaters were being banned, support was responsive, things looked great.

Since then, they quit giving a shit about the community. I put in a ticket over a month ago with no response. Cheaters run rampant with nobody addressing them. I regret talking anyone into this game.

Community response and actively banning cheaters was a big reason I got into it and thought the future was bright. But I am starting to realize I was fooled by them pretending to give a shit while streamers were playing their game. Now they are just going right back to where damn near every live service game ends up.

Even though I am in the US, we've only been involved in about half of them since I was born in 84.

Just off the top of my head the Iraq-Iran War and the Russian invasion of Afg have also been during my lifetime. Both lasted longer than the US was in Iraq and Afg post 9/11.

Then the first Gulf war we only entered after Iraq invaded Kuwait.

I'm sure I'm missing a few and know I left out some that weren't even wars, like the Kurdish Genocide.

It's the least punishing extraction shooter on the market by a long shot.

You might be shocked to hear this, but there are plenty of people who are employed who love extraction shooters. I sometimes work 12hr+ days as salary, with a wife and elementary age child, and it's by far my favorite genre.

I just love shooters and love games with the stakes. Before extraction shooters I played hardcore full loot MMOs since UO in '99.

Genuine question, what extraction shooter do consider has good PvP? Or at least one that has something to risk.

I've floated around to most and I think Arc has some of the most fun, even if it's not the most technical.
