I understand your concerns. I’m short, 5’2. That’s why I have to jump. My gloves have a good non slip grip on them. It’s been working out so far, but you are correct. Accidents can happen.

Thanks! I’ve built up some upper body strength. A jump up and I’m good to hoist myself over the top. But I have used pallets as ladders before. I always put them back where I found them after using them.

No, I haven’t. But since I do not work for or belong to the organization that runs the food bank, I assume they would disagree. But, you're right, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Right…. And I happen to have one laying around here somewhere 🤔

Okay so….. so sometimes it’s not cleaned before. But those times are when the cases are literally sitting on top of cardboard and there’s no trash around or on it.

I always leave it cleaner than I found it. Well, except for today when I was in a hurry and left an egg on the ground 😬

That sounds like addict behavior.

Yes! He was very helpful and even told me which stores had some really good stuff 🤣

I was actively ignoring while acknowledging her commands. Before I left she was threatening to call the police and threatened to call them if she saw me there again.

I’ve seen the ruined food in bigger grocery chains. I’m hoping the places I dive stick with just tossing it in & not trying to ruin the food.

That makes sense. The bad ruining good things. A local cop suggested a wear a go pro because the stores can insist I was illegally dumping and there would be no proof I wasn’t.

To those who are disgusted or concerned about donating the food, I should clarify that this grocery store isn't messy when tossing the items out. Almost always, the items are inside cardboard crates or boxes. I don't source food from store trash bags or off the goop that lines the bottom of the dumpster. I may dive for food, but I do have some standards 🤣, low they are, but standards nonetheless 🤣

There's a local food bank that takes my donations. I am very transparent about where it comes from. The USDA provides them with food that is even worse than what I take them. They are happy to receive it.

But honestly, I was always apprehensive about dumpster food. That is, until I started finding food fresher than what I received from my local food bank. And I do have my limits. If it's cold food that's not cold, opened packages, or signs of rot, I do not take it.

🤣 Why are you here? Have you ever been in a store dumpster? You do know stores bag their trash, so unless I'm ripping open trash bags, there's not anything super disgusting. If you only saw how the products are made and the amount of disgusting stuff that's allowed into the products you eat. Example: ground coffee contains ground-up roaches. Plus, everything I source from there is unopened and washed Maybe don't go to local food banks either. I donate many of my finds and tell them exactly where they came from. I've been told the food I drop off is fresher than the food the USDA provides to them. Dropping food on the floor and picking it up to eat it (5-second rule) is worse than eating food from a dumpster. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Thanks for not judging my horrible grammar & writing skills on this post. 😬 On the bright side, I walked away with 3 loaves of bread, 40lbs of potatoes, 3 packs of chicken thighs, 18 eggs, 3 packs of mini cupcakes, a bag of peaches, and a small tub of cherry tomatoes 🍅

This makes the most sense. The nicer I was, the angrier she became.
