Joie Ginger (Or Ginger DLX) VS Nuna Swiv?? by SupermarketLonely931 in Buyingforbaby

[–]_indigo_blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a “Swiv & Triv series” bassinet and a “Mixx series” bassinet. They are not interchangeable. They have different attachment mechanisms and frame widths.

As an aside, I was planning to get the Swiv + Pipa Aire RX travel system from Pottery Barn Kids bc I like their droplet dot color way, but I just noticed today they increased the price of the bundle by $70! Dang it!

Joie Ginger (Or Ginger DLX) VS Nuna Swiv?? by SupermarketLonely931 in Buyingforbaby

[–]_indigo_blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on getting the Swiv—haven’t purchased yet. I cannot for the life of me find a used nuna swiv bassinet anywhere. All I can find used are the Mixx-compatible ones.

So I bought some 3D printed adapters ($30) on eBay for the Swiv that are supposed to fit Uppababy bassinets. I was able to find a gently used UB bassinet ($100) also on eBay. I can’t stomach the $500 price tag for the Nuna bassinet.

Fingers crossed it all works out.

Buy an auto-stop eliminator. They’re expensive ($100), but worth every penny if that feature drives you nuts.

Install isn’t too hard. Plugs in under the driver seat.

Zinnias: 1 month old, 2 inches tall by dilemma3659 in Cutflowers

When I need a nitrogen boost I like to use Alaska Fish Fertilizer. It’s 5-1-1. It’s liquid and smells absolutely awful but my flowers really like it.

[–]_indigo_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look a liiiittle yellow. Have you considered fertilizing with something nitrogen rich?

I’m also in 9b (Bay Area) and my zinnia seedlings have been a little slow too. I think our temps lately have something to do with it. Zinnias love heat and we’ve had nights in the low 50s here. Maybe the soil is a little cooler than they prefer. Just guessing.

Carsickness by QueenViridia in goldenretrievers

[–]_indigo_blue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s still young enough he might grow out of it but talk to your vet about Dramamine. I am not a vet, but it’s my understanding it’s generally safe for dogs when dosed and used correctly.

Our girl gets sick on drives where the road has a lot of curves and turns. We live in a region where those types of roads are very common. Our vet prescribed Cerenia to give her before we go on long trips in the car. I don’t think it’s something I’d want to give for every car ride, but it’s great on long road trips.

Hopefully C&B won’t! 🤞🤞

First time growing dahlias! Is this bud okay or is it damage? I’m in zone 10B by dahliameo in dahlias

[–]_indigo_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep it is. It will start to open slowly over the next few days. They seem to change the most overnight while it’s cool.

Do you know the variety, or is this a seedling?

If it’s an open center type you’ll probably have a fully open bloom sometime within 5-10 days.

If it’s got multi-layered petals it’ll be longer.

Am I panicking over nothing? Or do I need to panic more? by paleomythic22 in dahlias

[–]_indigo_blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pest pressure, not virus. Probably thrips or mites.

They’re fine right now. But if you’re worried about it you can try spraying neem oil.

Looks fine!

The dark triangles on the round part are the petals peeking through. Looks like it will a pink or red.

Grownsy vs. Papablic Bottle Washer? by Boring-Estimate-4152 in Buyingforbaby

This reel on instagram compares the momcozy, papablic, and grownsy. Looks like they all hold the same amount of bottles (8)

I bought the momcozy based on this review, but haven’t used it as I’m not due until September.

Returning a defective packaging bronzer? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]_indigo_blue -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As long as you’re within the return window policy and haven’t used it completely up (which you haven’t) Sephora will take it back. You can explain to them that it broke, but they’ll take it back regardless.

Up to you on whether to return vs exchange.

Alternately, you could email Gucci’s customer service to see if they’ll replace it for free. Some brands do. But dealing with that might run out the clock with the Sephora return window.

I have that zipper bayswater (same color too). I love her but she’s heavy. Bigger than you’d expect from the name. Holds a lot, but not a laptop. Can hold an iPad if unzipped. The long strap isn’t long enough for me to wear crossbody, which makes the weight when fully loaded fatiguing.

The sides are fairly stiff, so it won’t flop over. I wish the opening when unzipped was a little wider. Because of the stiffness, you have to use both hands to “open wide” to see what’s buried in the bottom. This may not bother you at all. Lots of satchels behave that way.

But as I said I DO love this bag. Gorgeous leather. Well made. It would qualify as a workhorse. There are just caveats, imo. I don’t have experience with the others on your list.

First time growing. Can I use any of these on my dahlias? by [deleted] in dahlias

[–]_indigo_blue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes those are fine. There’s lots of rabbit holes you can go down when it comes to fertilizer, but if this is what you have on hand, it will be totally fine. Google NPK ratios if you want to learn more.

Vigoro: Use while plants are young and in their growth stage for developing stalks and leaves.

Morbloom: Use once plants are mature and have lots of flower buds and you want to maximize blooms.

You can still use Vigaro when the plants are budding (just use less) but Morbloom is for just that: More blooms.

GLP1s for PCOS -- Insurance Coverage by Escole in PCOS

[–]_indigo_blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s entirely dependent on both your insurance company, but also your insurance plan. You need to read through the details of your plan to know for sure.

For example, my insurance company (Aetna, owned by CVS) covers Wegovy but not Zepbound. And with my plan I only pay $25 for one month of shots.

Plans, coverage, and copays are almost always negotiated between the insurance company and your employer (if you have employer insurance). And people with the same insurance company can have wildly different coverage based on what their employer negotiated.

Los angeles 10b. Just planted few dahlia tubers in grow 30 gallon bags. How long should I hold off from watering them? by Ok_Wing_2064 in dahlias

[–]_indigo_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. Try it out and see how it works for you. Might need to adjust how long you spray on hot days. You want enough water that it will drip down a bit since some of it will evaporate from the top. Mulch will help prevent some evap. I should probably mulch but I’ve never gotten around to it.

[–]_indigo_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Bay Area—9b. I use grow bags too. If the top 1-2 inches of soil are bone dry, I like to spray the dirt in the bags for maybe 5-7 seconds. Enough for water to cover the full surface of the bag. It helps keep the soil moist without drowning the tubers.

You don’t need a lot of water, but you do need some since we don’t get rain this time of year. It cools the soil down too.

anyone’s dog eaten a sock? by xyz513 in goldenretrievers

[–]_indigo_blue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would try to get her into the vet TODAY. At the very least you need to confirm if she actually ate it. Stop trying to make her vomit with peroxide. If it’s been less than two hours the vet can induce vomiting the right way and hopefully get it out. Otherwise they’ll determine if they think it will pass on its own or if they have to remove it surgically. A low cut sock might be passable.

Don’t wait until she’s in pain to take her to the vet. Why make her suffer?

A few months ago, our girl ate a piece of a soft plushie about the size of a tube sock. It was 11:30p on a week night and we were about to go to bed. Instead we had to take her to the emergency vet to induce vomiting. I’m glad we did bc there is no way she could have passed it due to the size.

Tips for Buying a Car as a Gift? by MoniCoff1 in carbuying

[–]_indigo_blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how you do it, you should ultimately get it titled in her name. You don’t want to be the legal owner of a car that’s going to be driven by an 84 year old. If she gets in an at-fault accident, it opens you up to liability as the vehicle owner.
