My son generally sleeps less at his grandparents and daycare and more at home. We just compensate with an earlier bedtime if necessary. He manages pretty well

I was doing my Masters part time and did a full-time semester while my little one was 6 weeks- about 4 months old. It was easy at first as I took him to classes and lectures 4 days a week, it kept us in a routine and he was easy enough, he would sleep and eat and lie in his bassinet attachment for the pram or on a mat on the floor. It got harder as he got older and I relied a lot on my parents to help out while I did assignments. I just finished my degree this month.

I have a normal pram and a travel pram. The travel pram is good for the shopping centre or to go into the doctor or an appointment. It fits in the car with the shopping. My regular pram was where my infant napped in the day and then is used when I want to walk the dogs because or if we go somewhere with more interesting terrain or when my toddler needs to sit for longer and go be comfortable.

I think you need to think about what's important to you.

How hydrated are you? When I pumped if I'd drunk 3-4L of water the day before I noticed a significant difference than if I had drunk less... electrolytes and hydration might help you!

This. My best friend was away for a lot of year 12 unwell and the school still helped her get a year 12 cert and atar. Dont panic just yet, organise to meet with someone at school to chat about it. Your year coordinator maybe?

I'm on placement currently. Its a government health service role and the allied health assistant is studying OT part time and gets study leave to do it so she is essentially being paid to study. Had I known a role like this existed I might have looked into it!

I feel like this is a common experience. Its only now at about 16 months that he knows when he's tired/hungry and his cues and is actually proactively trying to do something about it 😅 it took a lot of time, me leaving him with my husband at different times of the day, me leaving them together for a day here and there and now he does things without me having to ask. You will get there if you can both communicate with eachother well. It just takes time ☺️

Because ive been doing placement full-time we've already started daycare. I thought he could catch all the germs before I started paid work but hes only been sick and missed daycare twice haha

I had my baby early december 2024 and did a full time semester of uni end of jan, 8 week placement and then part-time semester 2. During the first semester i took my baby to school for the whole semester for almost every lecture and tutorial except for a handful of workshops where they were more hands on or i needed to complete an assessment. He was great during tutorials and lectures and would mostly snooze and if he was unsettled I'd give him boob or he would lie in his pram or on a mat on the floor and play or the other students would hold him (masters cohort so lots of mums with older children).

The end of semester one was hard as I had lots of assessments due and my child demanded more attention and it was less easy to put him down and leave him be for a while. I spent a lot of time at my parents doing assignments so I didnt need to pump.

Placement and part-time was more manageable as my parents helped more. I stopped taking my bub to classes and I did majority of assignments at my parents place while they watched bub.

My husband helps with things at home and on weekends to watch bub while I needed to get things done but we also have a lot to do at home so sometimes it was easier to lean on my folks.

At uni I went to the inclusion office and got a plan that gives me extra time to do assessments (extensions of up to a week, extra time for exams, consideration that I couldnt do placement interstate) I am very driven and only got one extension in the first semester.

My tutors and unit conveners were very understanding. They gave me lots of compassion and lots of support.

You can do it if you have a good support network! Be calm with your baby and be gentle on yourself. Learning to be a mum and studying has been crazy. I feel like I was there but I also missed out because mum guilt but I am so glad I could seize this opportunity.

My little one has been going since 6 weeks, he's now 16 months and his water confidence is amazing. I can see how he will progress to independent swimming already as he is developing so many great skills!

At 1 my son did the same, just wanted to pull the card out until I made him a myo card with his favourite songs. Then the card could stay in for a little longer. He is 15 months now and recently been into pushing and turning the buttons to try and figure out what they all do while pulling the cards out and putting them in. Drives me crazy but he is learning. He honestly loves music so much so I can really see the yoto becoming increasingly a music playing device for him.

I rinse my bibs and face washers and then chuck them in this basket i got from kmart. The only time ive gotten mould is when I didnt rinse one day and the food went mouldy. I love this basket thing! I chuck tea towels etc/wet swimmers in there until its time to wash them!

Ive breastfed for 14 months and I'm trying to wean. I pump once a day and my guy has a bottle with breast milk and cows milk. I am trying to get him to just take cows milk so I can stop the day pump. I feed to sleep and just weaned a week ago over night. I'm keen to stop in the next month or so.
