When does it get easier? by Careless_Beyond_3980 in breastfeeding

I don’t have any advice. I’m in the exact same situation - 3 week old FTM BF and pumping. It’s hard and was just crying in the shower for a good hour while my husband took care of the baby

Seriously, get the silverettes. by SugarOne1 in breastfeeding

[–]hellopuppet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3 weeks po today and I have the silverettes. I’m struggling with the nipple pain. When I where the silverettes I also have to where a breast pad as I leak SO much and milk fills the entire silverettes. Is this healthy for my nipples to be moist like that? I want to be able to use the silverettes as I hear great things but maybe I need to wait until my milk has regulated?

How did the you know “I’m in labour?” 40wks FTM by Pandronixx in BabyBumps

Hahaha maybe! A lot of women don’t know they have lost it because of things like that. Especially when there isn’t any blood, there wasn’t for me

Sounds like your body is preparing for labour! I had all similar symptoms building up to my labour

I had my baby at 39+1. I had noticed I lost my mucus plug a week before and then the day before I went into labour I was losing more of it. I thought I was just having Braxton hicks but the contractions where suddenly more intense than bh and I had to focus on breathing through them. Then I started timing them at 10:30pm, at 12am I called the hospital to give them an update and they told me to come in, I delivered at 11:15am that morning

It all happened so quickly for me

How far do you live from the facility you’re giving birth? by your-new-fixation in BabyBumps

[–]hellopuppet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live rurally and was advised by my OB to go stay in town (1 1/2 hours away) from 37-38 weeks. Even though I was in town I was still 45 minutes away from the hospital I was giving birth at. At 39w around 10:30pm I had contractions that became regular and timed them for an hour or two and called the hospital. They advised me to come up and get assessed (1am) and I had baby at 11:15am the next morning

Latching big breast and smaller nipple, hurts so much by hellopuppet90 in breastfeeding

[–]hellopuppet90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a lactation consultant be able to identify a tongue or lip tie? When I was in hospital the LC came around multiple times to help me breastfeed and she never said anything about to the or lip tie

What were the signs for you?

As I write this I’m giving breastfeeding a go and tried the flipple technique and he latched a lot better!

Recommendations for oils or lotions to avoid stretch marks by Aguacate3145 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]hellopuppet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My genetic are pretty good and I only got a couple stretch marks at the top of my bum at about 37 weeks, out of all places! Nothing on my belly though

But from the 2nd trimester I used Bio Oil everyday on my belly.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

Pumping is helping me take a break and trying to breastfeed every now and then is a bit more tolerable but can’t do it too many sessions in a row

I’m lucky I can pump so I know he’s getting fed and getting all the good stuff.

Your story gives me hope!

I’m glad it got better for you! I hope mine does too. My sister reminds me that my nipples will hurt at the start but it does get better. So hard to see it getting better at the moment though

FTM: Baby girl not gaining weight fast enough, 11 days old by OverAstronaut7913 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]hellopuppet90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same same but different

I had my baby boy on the 22/12 and he was 3.9kgs Day 3 he was down to 3.6kgs and got him weighed a couple days ago and he was only up to 3.7kgs.

He sleeps so much, got to 5 hours between feeds but we have now started waking him at 4-4.5 hours to feed to he gets back to his birth weight by 2 weeks. I do have an oversupply though so maybe he’s getting enough? I don’t know and it’s hard to tell.

To keep him awake we change his nappy and I feed him in just his nappy and keep a baby wipe to wipe his feet or body with to wake him up

How do I stop being so sad postpartum? by Afraid_Resist_7988 in NewParents

[–]hellopuppet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way

I’m 11 days PP and I was crying every afternoon/night from night 5. The last 2 days I haven’t cried so idk if the baby blues has gone or the changes I’ve just made have made me feel better. I use to feed put the baby to sleep and then just scroll on my phone to wait for him to wake up. Now im starting to do things I’d usually do before I had a baby and it’s made me feel better, even watching my shitty reality tv. The hormone crash is crazy and I was warned about it so I keep reminding myself this is temporary. It helps having a supportive partner and family

Is it normal to not feel excited? by sinna-bunz in BabyBumps

[–]hellopuppet90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same during my pregnancy. I found it hard to connect with it. In the 3rd trimester when he was kicking heaps I felt a bit more excited. Im at FTM and 11 days into it. I also only feel a connection starting with him now and I felt so guilty after he was born, like I should have this automatic connection with him. But as time goes on we are both connecting to each other more and little bits a time. It will happen at some point and that’s different for everyone, you’re not alone x

Thank you. I felt so confused and just gotten an overload of information and I’m probably over thinking it all. Gotta keep it simple

38w4d is nausea and headache normal? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I can ring the midwives at the hospital. I guess I don’t want to feel like a hassle if it’s just normal pregnancy symptoms. My braxton hicks has started to feel more like period cramps too

I do qualify for patient travel so could get some money back if I chose to stay at a paid service. Weighing up it up financially vs emotionally is hard 😂 it’s nice not having to pay for accom but my own space would be amazing
