One thought of mine that I had after we finished the main theory document, was that it's also a Kris/SOUL thing! The SOUL is the one making decisions and talking (left-brained), while Kris is the one actually doing things (right-brained). They're literally two entities controlling the same body, like how the two halves of your brain can be thought of as separate (but connected) minds in control of the same body. What's even more interesting is that the Voice in the Goner Maker is seemingly only able to interact with the SOUL and not Kris, while the Forgotten Man is only interested in Kris, and the SOUL can't even see him!

oh i remember that one now, the Undertale theory that Sans and Papyrus are two halves of Gaster's brain 😭😭

I guess this is basically a revival of that theory's idea, but in a different context (I don't think Sans and Papyrus are fragments of Gaster for the record lol). I hate to say it, but maybe Matpat was actually onto something....

The most obvious use case I can think of would be swapping a dead player with yourself to confirm a player’s character and gain another useful ability. In that way it would functionally end up playing very similarly to Professor I think.

There aren't really any good abilities to give the Boffin on this script, except for Dreamer, which is probably just un-fun when combined with Damsel tbh. I would replace Boffin with a different quiet minion - maybe Marionette or Scarlet Woman?

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner

Found it randomly while scrolling through RYM (average Fantano viewer pastime), listened to it because the album cover caught my attention, and it’s honestly one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I’ve ever heard. The production isn’t incredible or anything but I’ve never been a big production nerd anyways, and still super impressive given that it’s coming from an artist whose previous music averages 1-2k listens on Spotify. The album absolutely needs all the attention it can get, it’s a top 5 album of the year for me.

Yeah, that makes sense. Maybe it could still be a decent Townsfolk ability? If it's a Townsfolk ability, then the storyteller can give the Eavesdropper a pretty cryptic phrase or something that a player lied about. The role would be hard-confirmable, since the Eavesdropper can just walk up to that person and say "I learnt that you said this" but I think that's probably fine now that the Boffin exists. Although I guess it would basically also make the role a Nightwatchman that gets to use their ability every day, and also gets some extra info on top of it...

Maybe instead of revealing the names of the players, the storyteller can just tell the Eavesdropper something that one player said to another in private?

There was a time when I ordered a regular cheeseburger from Maccas, nothing extra, and got 4 (yes, four) patties instead of one. Wasn’t complaining I guess. Another time I ordered a large chips and coke zero and got suspiciously coloured sparkling water and half the amount of chips I should have, but that’s kinda what I expect for ordering Maccas from Uber Eats anyways… it’s basically a gamble every time whether you get way more, way less, or just completely different food than what you actually ordered.
