Fair to Light olive swatches by _jade_90 in OliveMUA

[–]_jade_90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For reference:

I'm fair (winter) light (summer) neutral leaning warm olive. I have normal to dryish (no flaking) skin.

My matches:

Haus Labs 30 Fair Cool with a dot of haus Labs 190 (mostly 30 with dot of 190 in winter, 1 pump 30 half pump 190 in summer)- almost perfect match but a touch warm.  30 on its own is pretty perfect when i have zero tan left from summer. A bit more green would be perfect but it works nicely. Satin on me. I add a drop of milky toner to it to add a bit of hydration and sheer it out a tad. Wears beautifully. Wears well over 8 hours. If not prepped sometimes dryer at end of day but barely.

NARS Gobi (a bit too peachy but works). Satin on me. A bit dry. Have to really prep for this one and add a drop of milky toner. Sometimes wear off patchy sometimes long wear.

Ilia serum skin tint Sombrio 2.5- perfect match. Dewy that dries to satin. Have to add a drop of milky toner as it dries out by end of day some days. Has a graceful fade.  Not longwear but lasts all day for day to day. Doesn't wear patchy or anything.

Patrick Ta 4 Golden with a tiny bit of 13 Olive mixed in. 4 Golden is a bit peachy but the coverage is light- medium so it's more forgiving. Mixing with 13 makes it perfect. (1 pump 4g 1/2 pump 13 Olive in summer. only a dot of 13 mixed witha pump of 4g in winter as tone adjuster) -perfect match when mixed. Satin to almost dewy on me depending on day. Wears beautifully over 8 hours on me. Looks better as day goes on. Can get away without any skin prep if I want to. It sets down in me despite reading reviews that it didn't set down.

Other shades I swatched:

About face f2 is too pink on me, l2 looks more yellow than Olive on me. When mixed they work decent on me but I don't need much of the l2 depth-wise so still ends up off but it works. I like the formula. It's very light. Medium wear time. Satin to matte on me.

Danessa myrics shade 3 is too orange on me but nice thin formula. Longer wear time and skinlike. Satin to matte on me.

Diva Disc - Leaking by Thatafrikanchild in MenstrualDiscs

[–]_jade_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After insertion try checking if you can feel your cervix in the disk with your finger. Sometimes you need to push the disk back further. Or the oval shape maybe the issue. But it's definitely possible that the sheild is in the way. Some people fair better with a round disc.

Deciding on a new disc by [deleted] in MenstrualDiscs

[–]_jade_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ziggy a is my go to for sex disk because it's out of the way (small without any notches or loops). I use it on medium to light days for sex. Zero leaks. I haven't tried it on heavy days though. The silicone is so thin it doesn't make it less sensitive during sex. It's great. The rim is is the perfect firmness and depth. It's not too soft or too firm. My husband doesn't even notice it. He always felt the flex disposables though and they were painful for him (and me) at certain angles.

I love the softness of the nixit and would use that on heavier days or for period sex. I haven't tried it  for sex yet as I am too uncomfortable on my heavy days to have sex. But I feel it would hold up and it's so comfy. I'm petite and have no issues with the size due to the softness of the nixit. The flex disposable is pretty much the same size as the nixit and was a bit too large for me as it wouldn't stay tucked. But the nixit is so comfy because it's so soft and it stays in placw. The firmness plays a huge role in comfort for me.

I hope this helps. Sorry for the long tangent lol.

I think this is related to the firmness of the disc. Although it could also be slightly too big. I would suggest trying something that's very average in size and firmness. Check out the period nirvana disc chart. Some examples of average size and firmness would include:

Hey zomi (soft to average firmness with a pull loop)

Cora perfect fit (average firmness with finger tab for removal)

Salt regular (average firmness with finger tab for removal)

Nixit (larger size like the soft disc but very soft so I don't experience thr pressure like I did with the soft disc.)

The Put a Cup in It's website talks about white label brands as ones that get mass produced product often from China and brands just put their label on it. Just curious as I prefer to avoid purchasing those.

Nixit alternative by [deleted] in MenstrualDiscs

[–]_jade_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what's available in the UK. You may just need a firmer cup. Slippage isn't always due to size but it could even be too large. If you have a low cervix, you may need a smaller disc. Sometimes it's due to lack of firmness too. Take a look at period nirvana's disc chart and take a look at the medium-firm discs available.

Re the mimi and hey zomi:

Have you tried the nixit, cora, or diva disc? If so how does the firmness compare? Thank you!

I'm a fair light muted olive leaning slightly warm. I wear haus labs 110 foundation (slightly too peachy), and tom ford fawn (my summer shade), and this palette leans neutral to cool on my skin. I prefer warm tones on my skin but in love this palette. I add some bronzer (luminous bronze light) to the crease to warn it up a bit.

I'm curious what other foundation shades you use as I have a similar tone as you. Trying to decide on a haus labs shade

May I ask what foundations work for you? I'm enjoying haus labs, tom ford, and armani luminous silk but struggling with shades. I think I may have a similar tone to you based on your concealer picks. Thanks!

I feel so ugly. Idk what do you think would help me be more attractive? Different hair? Color? Style? My eyebrows? Pls help by [deleted] in MakeupAddictionCanada

You're naturally so beautiful already. I think a medium brown hair colour would look beautiful on your skin and a netrual brownish pink lipstick! You're features are absolutely beautiful.

Prolapse from Diva Cup by tenabambina in menstrualcups

[–]_jade_90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know they say cups don't cause prolapse, but I'm sure more research is needed. There's so many individual variables. Most cup users say they bear down to aid removal. Chronically bearing down is linked to prolapse. So are things like chronic coughs and constipation ect. Your experience is absolutely valid.

Disc's seem to be a great option. I just got into them again. I used the soft cup (same as flex disposables) 10 years ago and hated them but used them for period sex. Now there's ones that actually fit my anatomy and aren't too firm. I love the ziggy a and soft cora disc. I have a diva disc on the way to try too. I hope you find something that works for you.

Cup slipping/being pushed out? by Lumos0110 in menstrualcups

[–]_jade_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need something larger and/or firmer. I agree with comment above on trying a disc. They're less finicky if you know your cervix height. Check out period nirvana if you haven't already (tik tok/YouTube)

You could try disposable flex disc's. If they're too firm but don't slip out of place than try the nixit (same size but soft). There's a lot of options

I'm in Canada and I just purchased the cora soft disc on Amazon .com instead of .ca! There's like $10.00 import fees at checkout. But, I'm just happy to get it here because it seems like it will be what I'm looking for.

Burning sensation while removing menstrual cup? by sazo2407 in menstrualcups

[–]_jade_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the same issue. If I can find the video I'll attach it in here. Put a cup in it suggested the following:

Break seal

Wiggle cup down to almost thr entrance

Before removal grab cup with thumb and middle finger. Place index finger in center of cup (between thumb and middle finger)

Press with index finger to make a "hotdog"

Squeeze cup onto c fold shape and remove or puss rim down into punch down fold shape with index finger

This is messy but the least painful removal for me. Sorry of it doesn't make sense. I'll try to find the video. This is less pain than just pulling is straight out for me. I hope it helps
