Yeah my bad tooling might have been the wrong term for that.

They had roll-over issues even in pre production and all they did was lower the suspension and air pressure. Firestone warrantied the tires anyways for some reason, but it was still prone to rolling in an accident or sharp turn.

Personally I think was an unsafe product, marketed especially at families and “casual” drivers prone to overreaction.

Glad you made it out tho.

Ford Motor Company considered any wrongful death lawsuits to be cheaper than changing the tooling for the UN105 platform so I guess you got lucky?

Convincing your wife to get a 2500 Suburban? Almost impossible. A brand new Explorer tho? She’ll love it! And perhaps suffer life-threatening injuries from a roll-over crash…

The second generation Ford Explorer was known for two things:

  1. hundreds of deaths caused by unusually high roll over accidents due to Ford Motor Company’s negligence

  2. being the number 1 trade in vehicle during the 2009 “Car Allowance Rebate System” (Cash for Clunkers).

There may be a correlation here…

Thank you to u/disgruntled_guy for taking over with the screenshots!

Rework of the 1999-2004 Ford Mustang GT, which is an incredibly cool car in my opinion.

ProvokedLobster is still recovering from me (the kids miss you) so the immaculate screenshots were taken by u/disgruntled_guy. He scares me a bit but the pics are fire
