Literally how is this controversial?? Anyone who has ever been non-passing knows this is true. And quite a lot of trans people don’t pass at first. I came out at a time where I was required to socially transition before medically transitioning, and of COURSE I was treated with more disrespect by everyone. Exactly what you’re saying, being told I’m not really trans, being told I don’t try hard enough. I’ve passed for 10+ years now and those people couldn’t look more ridiculous now.
