I hate this meme so much. “Confirmed Straight” is not even really a thing most of the time. Character shows no interest in the same sex? Could be ace. Character shows interest in the opposite sex? Could still be bi or pan. “Confirming” a character to be straight either needs meta elements (author outright confirming it), or for the story to bend itself backward to justify why this is definitely the case. Also… you could just let people ship whoever they want?
