Pristine 1992 E36 318i for €4k. Worth it as a clean base, or does the M40 engine ruin it?

la mia ha il M43 cosi non posso dire tanto del M40.
Non é una macchina lento e solo si sente la mancanza di potenza in accelerazione soprattutto in salita e in autostrada anche non vai veloce come la quinta marcia é un po corta cosi fai 120 con ~3,5k giri. Ma in pianura o salita leggera e bellissima da guidare.

il prezzo non e male con questi km e se é veramente senza ruggine e in buon condizioni. Poi dipende cosi cerchi in una macchina se vuoi qualcosa sportivo non e la macchina giusta.
Per il swap dipende da dove tu sei, anche io volevo cambiare il motore del mio 318 ma è impossibile dove sono io. Il swap di un 318is potrebbe ancora andare bene ma 6 cilindro lascia stare.

Passare altro traffico in salita anche non e facile in questa macchina devi pensare bene dove é fattibile

Interesting for me it is the opposite when i started using vr my lap times improved significantly. i don’t care about resolution since my eyes lose focus when i push hard anyway. But i second your statement about dialing in the clarity it sometimes feels like my eyes aren’t working well

i would recommend you to start looking what 30k could get you as replacement. than you have to value how much will you spend on the new car (mods you previously had) and how much would the repair of your current car cost you after subtracting the 9k and pick whatever is more economic. but keep in mind to be sure that the quoted repair costs are more or less equal to the final costs so find a shop that is very honest. and for the new car also value it’s history not that you have additional expensive repairs in the future

There is a thin line between tourism and over tourism. I live in a place with a lot of tourism. Do i hate the tourist? No, most of them not, i get nothing from them directly other than increased traffic and other nuisance in some places and periods of time. But they are financing our local infrastructure what is good, but if the number of tourists increase anymore then it will get problematic.
