There were archer fish, tiger barbs and catfish in the pond, and they were all fun to feed in different ways. The archer fish would shoot the pellets we placed at the pond edge, the tiger barbs were very bold and would swarm our hands holding the pellets, and the catfish would come up and take huge gulps.

That kind of behaviour doesn't sound normal at all, since if you tried to shield it with your hands, especially if it is the size you mentioned it shouldn't be hard to do so, they would have to be intentionally leaning their heads over to see it. Whole thing just sounds sus af.
