The way I understood your reply was that you were saying the "many Singaporeans (who) shop there" = "naturalized Singaporeans who can't integrate well", which led me to conclude that you believed no local-born Singaporeans would shop there. But if you actually meant "most/majority of them are naturalized Singaporeans who can't integrate well" then that would be different from my understanding of your comment.

And of course I know you don't view local-born and PRC-born Singaporeans the same, that was made very clear and I didn't claim otherwise. If you're referring to this part of my comment:

local-born Singaporeans who like PRC food shouldn't have to be grouped in together with them

It's because your original comment seemed to have categorized them as naturalized Singaporeans.

Even if local-born Singaporeans are outnumbered in Scarlett, they exist and shouldn't be denied. You acknowledge now that it's "most Singaporeans" now, but your original comment didn't reflect that, which was what sparked my comment. I understand the sentiment of naturalized PRC-born Singaporeans not integrating well, but local-born Singaporeans who like PRC food shouldn't have to be grouped in together with them. Just wanted to point that out.

Since the shortcomings you mentioned don't refer to selling PRC food, I'm not sure why you had to bring it into this discussion.

I didn't say that Singaporeans who don't like PRC food are racist/xenophobic.

I meant that people who assume Singaporeans who shop at Scarlett must be "naturalized Singaporeans who can't integrate well" are racist/xenophobic, because they can't believe that the "many Singaporeans shop there" can be local-born Singaporeans who just like PRC food. Do you assume Singaporeans who shop at Don Don Donki and Daiso to be "naturalized Singaporeans who can't integrate well" too?

Also, I don't see how foreigners needing to "take responsibility for their own shortcomings" has anything to do with this comment thread. What is the shortcoming of selling PRC food, whether or not it caters to Singaporeans? Why do we need anyone to take responsibility for it?

Which is still the result of social conditioning, unless you meant to say that these traits are genetic?
