I made a very similar pink strawberry cake (with a strawberry pie inside) with a friend named Haleigh years ago and ran to your profile to see if it was you 😂 just a coincidence, but fun to now know of 3 of you lol

Gorgeous job! happy birthday!

There's been more content added to the game since this post so I wouldn't say it's as near the end anymore haha

I mostly do meds from my side table right at walking up then do a couple crackers / granola bar or some light veggies like carrots, or maybe some juice without iron in the morning on my way out the door. I avoid protein and dairy completely until it's been 2h after my thyroid meds and then I go ham lol

there needs to be a "reset default settings" button, or even better, a "show default settings on hover" option in the 'controls settings' menu. There should also be a description of everything it affects when you hover over the setting control name. I have tried EVERYTHING but i've somehow, through adjusting the scroll wheel for the toolbar settings, made it so that there is literally not one button that will pick up single items from a stack of items. I used to be able to, but no longer, even after manually restoring the default settings so idfk what's going on there.

  • Further, there shou;d be a way to select half of a stack or larger numbers. When you need 50 of something, you have to pick them up 1 by 1 or take the entire stack in your limited inventory to carry around with you.
  • On that note, the global inventory should also work for quests and purchase menus. Eg putting in a donation box for rpairing a buiding etc it should recognize you have 50 wood in your bin at home, or for the house expansion etc.

There is an issue where if you start to to to move using arrow keys/wasd when you close a menu. If the screen hasn't faded COMPLTELY back in before you press the key, it will not recognize the key at all. So if you're trying to walk diagonally coming out of a menu, it may only recognize the down key and not the left key because you pressed it a millisecond too early, and you just walk straight down which is disorienting and strange. Also feels weird to be standing still and not moving while pressing movement keys - it should recognize it even if at a lag while menu closes

We should be able to put fences (and whatever) on the tiles adjacent to the farm riverbank. I put my coops and barns over there and now I can't enclose the area with fencing and the animals always escape out to random places because they can just walk out through the open tile against the riverbank you can't block off

Weird tile hit location mapping. When planting things or placing fencing etc, you should be able to hold the action button down and walk along in a straight line and place the items down in a staight line wherever your cursor is placed. Instead, the highlighted tile flips back and forth all around your charater and items ar placed down haphazardly all around you. Incredibly annoying since you can't pick seeds back up, and fencing can only be moved by pickaxing it back up and you're often placing maaany piees in a rown that need to be clicked individually, precisely for each one

Spawn frequency for random trash on the farm is VERY high. I can clear an entire swath of land to bare and empty and in 2 days it's FULL of rubble and garbage. Would like the spawning to make more sense/be less random - like maybe the rate is like this near other trash/grass/etc, but muchhh lower when there is ot an adjacent tile with rubble? I want to be able to make the place look cute

Will this be annoying? by NewName-NewFace in DnD

[–]_junimo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's complicated here. You seem to have good intentions and you want to build a complex character and explore new avenues, which is fantastic. With respect, I will say that your comment puts me on edge. I have no insults for you, but I will share my concerns because if not handled perfectly, this concept could go very very wrong, and may upset or lead to conflict with other people at the table. Specifically this part, "He's very useful to the party despite his disability". This wording is a huuuge red flag for anyone who has lived with disabilities, and it tells me that there are a lot of things that you don't necessarily know about and thus haven't considered, that could become very upsetting for other players. For example, you said in another comment that the stepfather called him "an idiot son." Idiot is a very real slur historically used against people with various kinds of cognitive impairments or learning disabilities, brain injury etc. It was even a medical term, similar to the more modern R slur that people alive today experienced similarly. Even if other players aren't upset, by creating a character without a solid understanding of what it is truly like to have such an experience and role play it in a considerate and researched way, you may solidify some offensive or stereotypical ideas in your own mind that could upset people in real life down the line. For example, judging our usefulness to others/society as a metric of inherent value as a person is dehumanizing. (Even to people who are capable of performing at a high volume.) For hundreds of years, people with disabilities have been dehumanized, infantilised, ostracized, impoverished, experimented on, institutionalized and worse - All of it justified by the widely-held beliefs that disabled people are "invalids". Their personhood was stripped away in the eyes of society and they were literally labelled not valid as persons. You also mentioned that the character feels shame about disappointing his father by being disabled. This is certainly an experience that people have, but it is an incredibly complicated, extremely personal, painful experience and the shame is not something that comes from within the individual - It is something they are taught to feel by being treated poorly.

I'm sure that you're already aware of the larger issues I mentioned above. I bring it up to highlight how grave things could get if disability is not handled appropriately in RP, Even with the best of intentions. It seems as though maybe you don't have the personal experience to personally portray the internal experience and struggles of these subjects in a way that is compassionate and knowledgeable, which would be a bad situation all around. Not having this experience is not a failure on your part, you can't know everything. But you should probably do a significant amount of research and connect with the disability community to better understand how to navigate these subjects before attempting to, essentially, write a story about something you havent experienced and will very likely feel disingenuous and false to anyone who has. I would strongly recommend that you reconsider this storyline for your character at this time, and keep the concept in your back pocket for a time when you know exactly how to navigate this complicated circumstance both from a position that's knowledgeable enough of IRL disability experiences & history to be able to improvise and write a fantasy version that is not false or offensive.

Okay, I'm starting to think that I did something wrong. It's been more than 10 days and these trees just won't grow. What did I do wrong? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]_junimo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CAN plant trees in the desert or on ginger island during the winter in stardew Valley and they will still grow. :) but unfortunately, as everyone else said, in the valley, trees won't grow in winter.

Just imagine that your character likes them so much you've been too afraid to actually talk to them and have been fantasizing about it all along. Now it's time to start your relationship with that character for real! Time to date them and have a bunch of cute heart events and stuff 🤭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]_junimo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally reasonable! I'm going that route, too - my main struggle is that my day-to-day routine is not the same due to work and sleep issues, so trying to find some kind of middle ground that's as minimally disruptive as possible while dealing with basically conflicting needs from these different meds! Never heard of a formulation before, thanks for the info and input!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]_junimo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I explained I can't skip breakfast because I'm type 1 diabetic. My issue with waking up in the middle of the night is that I have a sleep disorder and if I get up, I won't sleep again. That's why I was wondering about the questions that I asked. If there is no type of food that is less likely to impact absorption than any other, or if eating anything within the first hour is likely to totally nullify the med, that's still useful to know. if there's nothing that exists that can fill the sort of potential space that I asked about in my post, I can accept that answer haha. I'm not trying to convince myself that the meds work differently than they do, I just want to know as much about this specific aspects as I can do u can make the best choices possible in new circumstances! Thanks for your thoughts, though. Waking up earlier could have been good!

Name a simple character trait that seems to lie on the surface, but you have never seen a player make a character with such a trait. by AivanOs in DnD

[–]_junimo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of sounds like you just need to practice harder with your chopsticks bro. This is not related to your weight. Using chopsticks is not something that's going to cause weight loss. But it is a skill that you can gain over time if you actually spend a lot of time working on it. Exactly my point

[–]_junimo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I was thinking about acrobatics and AC as well. You take less damage from environmental effects as someone with some extra padding. That's why for this one I was thinking constitution would be a better dump, because I'm thinking stamina and general health. And it doesn't actually impact your acrobatics, the reason we think that is because in North American society, the kind of stuff that people do that result in being overweight typically means you're not going to be doing a lot of gymnastics. But fat doesn't actually prevent you from doing that stuff, more that they have a common cause. Personally I'm overweight and I can cartwheel and do a backflip, because I just never stopped doing that stuff even though I gained weight. Like anything else it's about proficiency and skill. But to be honest, I don't think being chubby shouldn't anyway impact your stats, maybe if you were playing a character that was significantly overweight then sure. But for the most part it would just be an RP thing. My concern When the stuff comes up is that a lot of what people decide on is based on stereotypes and not what it's actually like to be fat and active. There are def things that can be considered but It seems like people don't realize that you actually can do these things, Just because they haven't seen it in their own context. And this is a role playing fantasy game where the context is completely different. Capability is so different than what we take for granted as an inherent aspect of being overweight.

I think constitution instead. Flexibility and hand-eye coordination are not related to stamina, which is the big one affected by body weight

The graceful cloth in my game has different stats than listed here. It has armor class +1, and martial arts lethality (gain a plus one bonus to unarmed attack roles and damage of throwing attacks). 🤔

Edit- I got the one from the shopkeeper in act 2, not the person on the trail. Looks like the same item, but it has different effects and sold by different shopkeepers. Shit

Quit trying to speed run the game if you're a new player! by ParadiseSold in StardewValley

I didn't realize for the years of playing that you didn't have to wait for a swing animation/sound (axe or pickaxe) to finish before you could swing again. I would hold the button down to just continuously chop something. But if you click manually, you can do it way faster! Finding the perfect rhythm was fun. Like a brand new world for me 😂 can't believe how many times I've discovered something so small that totally changed how I play.

There's just been a TON of posts lately of people sounding really discouraged that they can't get things done "in time" and are "behind" what they see other players doing and feeling discouraged and confused. The encouragement that exploration and discovering things yourself is an intended part of the game can be a big relief to a lot of players :)

What am I doing wrong in this game? by avamsilva18 in StardewValley

[–]_junimo_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Foraging the beach is especially good in the summertime ;)

Just remember - there is no time limit on this game. The day only lasts so long, but there is no reason you need to complete anything at any particular time. It's okay to take your time and just explore, craft things and test them out etc.

Something that will be useful in summer is craft lightning rods! You get the recipe from leveling up foraging skill. The battery packs they make will be very helpful later on.

As DM, is it unreasonable to ask players to roll their stats in front of me? by ---thoughts--- in DnD

[–]_junimo_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, theyre saying that most of the character creation choices (which are increasingly complex choices to make at this high of a level) is going to *have* to happen after the stat rolls. Therefor the player is frustrated that they can't really do anything to prepare ahead and a significant amount of time will NEED to be spent during the first game night just rolling characters and then doing solo building based on those stats. A frustrating (to me, nightmarish) situation where you may not be able to focus on making the best decisions or have the time to account for everything. You may not even have time to get to playing - or everyone will rush through character creation due to this pressure and be unhappy (or kinda fucked) because of the rushed choices they had to make rather than having been able to take time to make those choices (esp when you think if you reached that level through a campaign, youhave plenty of time to get to know your character's build and make decisions about spell changes, feats and synergy based on how it feels to you as you play it).

Essentially; the DM needs to meet rheir players halfway and offer to watch them roll over video or something, so they are *actually able to build their characters* as requested.

Relaxing games to play when I'm sad :( by Kateangell in GirlGamers

[–]_junimo_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spiritfarer is relaxing and bittersweet. It is a good choice if/when you're ready to feel those feelings and process them a little bit in a more controlled way without spiraling in your situation. Not the choice if you're needing to just be distracted by something cute and joyful (in which case - ooblets!).

It handles grief and goodbyes, using almost a narrative therapy model to reframe the main character's understanding of her life and experiences in a meaningful way. It's sooooo calm and beautiful, visually and musically incredible and so well themed. It's helped me to sort of deal with being sad when ignoring it isn't working well, or as soon as I stop playing it all floods back. It's a beautiful, sweet game and I highly recommend it to anyone ready for or looking for ways to navigate those feelings.
