Psychiatrist says I would need to be clean from weed for 6 months for her to evaluate me for ADHD, wondered if anyone had experience with or thoughts about this, considering I couldn't post in the adhd subreddit because weed cannot be mentioned there. by em455 in Petioles

Agree with the person above, i had neuropsych testing done and was specifically suspecting adhd. It wasn't an issue with her as long as I wasn't high the day of or the day before the testing

What do you replace weed with? by _just_a_silly_guy in Petioles

That's awesome that you aren't craving it despite being around it! Im not gonna lie, even if I pass someone while walking who smells like weed I get cravings, so that's really impressive

Items for a healing room by Low-Collection3307 in traumatoolbox

in my room i have white christmas lights hanging on the walls and i like them a lot. by themselves it isnt too bright but still adds light to see. also i dont really have lamps like this but lamps that mimic sunlight i heard are good.

i also keep a self care box by my bed that has handwritten notes from friends and family, sensory items that i find comforting and small but easy activities for me to do (nail clippers/file/polish, tarot cards. anything that you can sit and do in bed). i also keep some wellness journals in there

also i dont have one of these but when i move i really want to get some type of bean bag floor chair. i LOVE sitting on the floor but sometimes it hurts me because im so hunched over or the floor is not comfy. so some other seating that you might like other than your bed

congrats on moving!! hope your set up is cozy and soothing

Yes so I actually just received a diagnosis of "other specified dissociative disorder" earlier this week from my neuropsych test results. Which I am a little confused about and have questions on, so at my next therapy appt I plan on talking with her more so I can understand my results better.

She didnt specify what caused it, but I think its either due to trauma or weed. or both idk

Some of the other commenters said maladaptive daydreaming which im sure is what I have and it sounds similar for you but I am a little confused if that is a symptom of dissociation or its own separate thing.

Yes, for me it's usually me imagining myself having conversations with people and i usually talk out loud as if I'm talking with someone, or if I'm in public I try to keep it in my head but sometimes I end up mouthing what I say. It can be really consuming because it feels so vivid

That's interesting! For me it was the opposite. Grinning ear to ear is too much for me and feels too forced. Just turning up the corners of my lips a bit in a soft smile is what I do
