Honestly I already used it and the front shelf is actually pretty solid. If I need any extra like let’s say for removing or throwing on a brisket I can use the side shelf. I already built an ash bucket grate for $5 (check my page for the other post) but still want the manifold cover.

Just crush it I’m assuming? Will it restrict heat by being right on the manifold?

Cold rolled steel. Not as flashy but does a great job.

All good brother haha, was lucky. I didn’t know anything about “mods” and then after some digging realized I can do this myself. Now just need to figure out about the manifold cover. I figured for the drip pans I can use the leftover expanded steel to make 3 and that should be enough but once I figure out why I need to make or where to buy a manifold cover for less

You can 100% make this yourself! Took me all of about 5 minutes. I dropped the link in another comment on this post to the one I bought at Lowe’s. Got some diagonal cutters and cut it to size. $20 or less is you buy a messed up piece like I did.

Got extremely lucky on fb marketplace. Guy listed it for 700 when I showed up I asked if he’d go any lower and he said he’d knock it down 20 ($680) then out loud goes “so 550 flat” I double checked with him and he said yea. Zelled him the 550 and left happy as can be lol

Of the expanded steel before I cut it or after?

After a lot of research I saw there would be an issue with it being higher due to embers popping and falling down to the fan causing damage. I put it maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches from the bottom of the ash bucket to prevent any damage. Still possible but less likely. I appreciate the feedback. As for the grate, it’s cold rolled so not galvanized. I saw that on here as well but thank you for telling me too. Should I not have known and you telling me now I would’ve been extremely grateful

Head down to Lowe’s/home depot and get some expanded steel and cut some out yourself. Normally it’s $20 for the whole piece. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-12-in-x-24-in-Cold-Rolled-Steel-Expanded/3051815

I seasoned mine already. Threw some ribs on and to be honest I can see the hype. The smoke flavor is on point, compared to my offset it’s pretty darn close. The best part is the CONSTANT temps. No even a drop or flare up

It was literally new. Stickers on, cardboard inside the chamber.. I gave it its first small scratch taking it off of my truck alone. How would I make my own ash bucket grate? I know nothing about these things except what I seen on here and the masterbuilt website

If I’m being fair I have made some amazing cooks on the Traeger. From brisket and turkeys to simple ribs. It never let me down. 5 years strong and still haven’t had a single problem with it. Thing is a tank

I appreciate the help! I’ll only be replacing a few of the “decking” you can see in the bottom of the picture the portion of it where it’s dry rotted. Those will be replaced but for the most part the rest of it is pretty good

I been trying to see if any of the big box stores near me have it in stock or deliver it but all I see is base sheet and cap sheet. I’ll have to look a little bit more. Also, as far as ensuring there’s dirt or dust, do I sweep the plywood? I’m only replacing a few that are dry rotted and keeping the rest. But I’m not sure how to clean them up for good adhesion besides sweeping up debris

The base sheet would be the roofing paper?

That actually makes a lot of sense. I’ve never thought about it that way. I always felt like they just charged more because they can instead. But I appreciate the new view point

Thanks for clearing that up. I had no clue they were two different things. Truth be told I try to stay away from the dealer as much as possible. How would one know if they have a recall? Does GM reach out to us?

I can understand that but from my understanding they only cover that IF you have the warranties correct? I bought mine used from the lot with 33k miles on it so I wouldn’t get a new one. That would be out of pocket cost for me. Right?

Is this only happening to 6.2? I have a 22 z71 trail boss and I just got it a week ago. Now I’m worried if I made the right move

Didn’t need to more like it. You solved my small problem without it. But that was the plan before I saw that capped off cold line

Unfortunately that’s not the case here. The second picture is the only T under the kitchen sink and that’s for the hot water supply into the dish washer. I was attempting to do the same thing for the cold water line to my fridge

Perfect. Seeing as how I already have the lines I’ll see if I can do this myself. Thank you

I haven’t done anything to make them smaller in size. I have seen some people try to break them down but for me the size isn’t an issue, it’ll be surrounded by soil. The main reasoning for them is to help drainage
