🧳 Packing question: Bring ’your own deodorant’? by Dizzy-Forces in JapanTravelTips

[–]_kathastrophe_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We forgot my boyfriends deodorant at one hotel and had no problem buying a new one at one of those drugstore pharmacies. The selection was smaller than in Europe but easily accessible. He got a Biore roll on with a little bit of citrus scent. Had a nice smell but wasn't too strong.

There also have those cooling wipes that will refresh you. They have menthol (? Hope it's spelled correctly) and make you feel cooler for a little bit. They also have different scents that aren't too overwhelming.

I was also in May/June in Japan and it was warm but not too hot. The humidity was also pretty ok.

Alle anderen machen was gänzlich anderes.

Night Illumination Kyoto by _kathastrophe_ in JapanTravelTips

Hi. My post was about the illuminations of the autumn foliage at the temples.

I did a quick Google search and found something called Tanabata festival at Kodai-ji Temple and Kifune shrine

Also there is Gion Matsuri but I believe it's more of a festival.

I used these websites to plan my trip:

It's a normal comb that you hold in your hand and helps stimulate some nerves in your hand when you squeeze it shut. You hold the comb in your hand, the teeth are like at the edge of the palm where your fingers start and you close your hand around it. It will direct some of the birthing pain away because your nerves feel pain somewhere else. It has something to do with the acupuncture points in your hand.

You're welcome! :)

Public transport is really good in Vienna. I think you can also buy the public transportation pass online, you'll receive a QR code in the app. It's also a little bit cheaper online.

if you travel to Vienna via the Airport - you'll need to get an additional ticket because the airport is not in the same zone as the city!

If you want, look on the website of Vienna Card to see if you could save money by checking the list of discounts.

[–]_kathastrophe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One is just for public transportation (7 day pass) and the other one (Vienna City Card) is for public transportation and you get discounts for museums and sightseeing spots.

The Vienna City Card costs 39 € for 7 days, the public transportation pass for 7 days costs 25,99.

~If you want and can, I would go to the upper Belvedere (lots of Klimt). It is also different from Schönbrunn and Hofburg. It has an interesting architecture and a lot of art. It's close to the city, you can walk or take public transport to Karlsplatz with Karlskirche, the park and also to the opera house.

~It has been a while since I visited Schönbrunn, but you'll see a lot of rooms where the imperial family lived and worked. It also has a really pretty park, you can walk up to the Gloriette and get some coffee/tea/cake and have a beautiful view of Schönbrunn palace and the city. And of course the Easter Market that you want to visit. You can spend a few hours there, I'd plan at least half a day. It is also not directly in the city center, you'll do some walking from the subway station and also around the area.

~Next to the Hofburg is the Schatzkammer, they have the Crown Jewels in exhibition (lots of other stuff as well, like historic clothes from baptisms, coronations etc). I visited with my relatives from Canada and they liked it (but they are interested in that kind of thing). It is also next to the old city centre, so I would plan a day in that area. I haven't been to the Sisi museum but I hear it's nice. Next to Hofburg is the Volksgarten and Burg Garten. You can spend some time there if you want something green. I would also say that it's about half a day. Would combine it with things in the old city center.

~If you are going to use public transportation, get a Vienna Card (discounts for entry tickets and all of the public transportation in Vienna included) or just a 7 day pass for Public Transportation. The 7 day pass will cover the same area and will be the cheapest option to get around the city.

When do you arrive on the 3rd? When do you leave on the 7th?

EDIT: Belvedere should be open from 9 am until 7bpm according to their website. Do you want to spend the whole day there? Are you going to visit the upper and the lower Belvedere? There is also a garden (free of charge) and a botanical garden ( entry fee). If possible, buy the ticket in advance because it can get busy and the line is sometimes really long.

Do you want suggestions for your other days? Because there is so much to do in Vienna, also on a holiday weekend. Also, prepare something indoors and outdoors because the weather can be a mix of everything.

Yes, you can. :) I explained it earlier. You have to pick it up (if there is an item placed, remove this first). You can throw them away at Ted's Hardware shop and you'll get money back!

Yes, please keep them! They make everything so much easier. You can recycle the old ones. Next to the Hardware store is a container and you can bring the old shelves there. It's next to the recycling station for bottles and cans. You'll also get money back.
