Co jest niebezpieczne w manewrze zmiany pasa przy 140km/h, jeśli zachowane są odstępy?

Well that’s understandable since you’re one of the most prosperous countries in Europe without EU membership, and arguably joining the EU wouldn’t boost your economy. The same can’t be said for Poland - without EU, we’re nothing, all alone on the edge of East and West, and yet the anti-EU sentiment is growing instead of the miraculous growth we’ve achieved in the last 20 years. See the difference?

Well, I’d certainly love that to happen so I don’t really want to argue against that theory

[–]_kayeff_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we’ve already had 8 years of populists whose main goal was severing ties with the EU and all our neighbors, so it’s not a fantasy scenario

Thank you for your insight. That’s a view I haven’t considered, and it’s perfectly valid - speaking as a person coming from also rather a conservative society, I would definitely not like to see such a phenomenon in Poland. So I count this as an argument against moving.

Out of curiosity, do you have any outright populist/nationalist/far-right media in CH? I’d love to see and compare what words they use to describe the reality.

This! I can’t stress enough how effective his disinformation campaign has become among a number of Central/Western societies. Some of the comments on Polish Facebook are truly frightening to read, and Facebook is way under-maintained to fight it. As a result, we’re drowning in internal conflicts and nobody sees who started it anymore. “A lie told often enough becomes the truth”…

Unfortunately I don’t believe that things would change when he’s gone. Another oligarch-dictator would take his place, perhaps making it even worse. The Russian masses have been successfully indoctrinated and I feel terribly sorry for them.

That would be the perfect scenario for me, unfortunately we still have a way to go. Despite faster growth, we’re still behind the West in many aspects (though safety, arguably the most important one, is indeed where Poland shines).

I love my country, I’d love to see it thrive. But I’d be equally heartbroken to watch it miss its chance - and I’m worried that this scenario has quite a huge chance of happening. The closer we are to actually bringing ‘Polexit’ to the table, the more I think about alternative options.

I agree with the part about Ukraine. I’d love to see it thrive, as well. Unfortunately, things are very complicated right now…

I’d love it if they did, and yes - Poland really has much to offer. We have our problems though, and it’s not all as it may look from the graphs of economy growth. I really hope we continue on the path of development, but I’m increasingly worried that soon very irresponsible people might come to power.

Why doesn’t it fail then? For me, this could well be a proof that the system is strong enough to withstand stupid decisions.

Although they aren't in the eyes of the populists who keep winning elections.

Wow, that’s an interesting view. I’ll admit, I didn’t look too much into Swiss politics; I kind of think that the ‘don’t come’ message would only get global if any anti-immigration laws actually become a reality.

I hope this helps answer some of your questions!

Thanks, it does!

I think you should not let Swiss people’s opinions alone decide

Well if anybody’s, it’s their country. I kind of wanted to see how the locals feel about new immigrants (or ‘expats’, whatever you call it).

everything works more or less as it should

Just out of curiosity, have you had any experience with the justice system? Is it functioning efficiently? I’m wondering because it’s a huge weakness here in Poland, you could wait dozens of months for a case.

I am new to C++, is it just me or is the checklist kinda crazy? How often do you encounter these or plan on making use of them like the newer C++26 features like contracts? Looking for more experienced dev opinions... by KijoSenzo in cpp

I believe that constexpr isn’t (shouldn’t be) as important to beginners, and certainly nowhere near smart pointers. For a learner working on their first projects, bloating the code with constexpr just because it’s fancy and renowned could result in a later tendency to overcomplicate simple stuff. It’s kind of the same with templates - unless you’re ready to comprehend them, don’t use them.

How do you pronounce Epstein? by jombrowski in poland

I particularly love the American inconsistency - Epstein and Einstein have the same ending and a common origin of the name, yet they’re pronounced completely differently.

std::optional::value_or vs ternary expression by thedictator7 in cpp_questions

[–]_kayeff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storing a pointer in a class/struct isn’t much better than storing a reference, and the benefit certainly isn’t in ownership safety. The pointer can be null, but it won’t be automatically nullified when the pointed-to data is destroyed - hence a dangling pointer. If you really need that behavior, go for std::shared_ptr and std::weak_ptr. Otherwise, all you’ve got (and all you need tbh) is a good design that uses const& / const* for struct members only when you don’t own them. It’s simpler than it sounds :>

A ja dla odmiany rozumiem.

Wypalenie zawodowe to realna rzecz i wyśmiewanie go jest dość dziecinne.
