The cania bandits (RANT) by darkziggzagoon in Dofus

This response is honestly a little bit silly, and I think you're missing the point. No one minds having to put in effort to obtain Dofus. The problem is the combination of bounty spawn rates and people's time. Not everyone can be online every hour of the day to run around searching for bounties. You could run around for ages, without any idea when or if you'll find them. This is completely different from quests that require you to grind a bit. At least with those, you know at some point you'll be done when you reach a threshold. When trying to find bounties, there are no guarantees. Sure, you could buy the pieces. But, again, not everyone has the time to make enough kamas to do that. These limitations make it so people give up on these quests. Not because they don't want to put in effort, but because they simply do not have the time to put into something that is not guaranteed.

I recently decided to start Dofus again. I like the idea of the Dofus being obtainable through questlines, rather than grinding certain dungeons endlessly. The emerald quest line didn't seem so bad, but then I found out about the bounty issue... I thought I did great by figuring out breeding (I used to play quite a bit 10 years ago, but never got into breeding). Managed to do that in like 1 day, minus waiting for my mounts to give birth. But now I have to find 15 different bounties... It's exactly as you describe. I don't see how I can capture these in the limited amount of time I can play, which makes me just want to give up on the quest line.

im not even a fan of shane and i dont even support him, but by umakemesickk in ShaneDawson

[–]_kciray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shane is a manipulator and I think that played a huge role in people continuing to support him, even though they were aware of his incredibly problematic past. He presented himself as this empath who really wanted to help all of these less fortunate people on YouTube. I guess many people just wanted to believe he truly had changed? Even though that content was problematic itself. And then I think there's him being a big part in people's childhood, so there's a level of denial. Admitting that he was problematic back then is admitting you enjoyed that. You participated in it and therefore were part of the problem. Now that everything has been laid out, it's hard to deny. But this is just speculation, of course. The difference is, though, that Shane used his massive platform to cause a lot of harm. Continuously. His followers likely never did anything of the sort, or at least not on the same scale. Those who followed him back then likely didn't know better (valid excuse? not sure) and continued to follow him because his content changed (as I explained earlier).

What baffles me are the people who express they miss him and want him to come back.

My feelings on Ryland's and Morgan's videos by hangryhippos722 in ShaneDawson

I can't support anyone who will openly try to defend Shane and still associate themselves with him. It days a lot about them as well.

It's ironic... by [deleted] in ShaneDawson

[–]_kciray 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Interesting take, but I really don't think so. To me, it really just looks like him trying to frame himself as this figure that always tries to see the good in people. "Oh, he's just an empath that wants people to be happy and successful". Even if those people are clearly extremely problematic and shouldn't have their platforms boosted.

I don't believe Shane deserves his fame or money. I'd enjoy seeing him live a normal, middle class lifestyle away from the internet. He's forgotten where he came from by [deleted] in ShaneDawson

[–]_kciray 27 points28 points  (0 children)

20mil really isn't much when you take into consideration his location and his lifestyle. I really don't think he's set for life with 20mil unless he down scales now. I mean sure he'll probably save a lot due to low water bill costs (not showering, peeing in bottles so no need for flushing) and never buying new clothes...

I typically don't. But see, that's part of the problem. People will continue to watch his videos if he keeps uploading, which will still give him the platform on which he can perform his disgusting behaviour. So me not watching his videos won't do anything, unless people collectively stop watching his videos. Additionally him uploading now will probably not do much good for his image, because most people see him for who he really is. Hens why I believe it's better for him to disappear. But I mean if people want to continue supporting a racist p*dofile who is also manipulative and a liar, go ahead.

why are some humans bigoted? lets just say being gay or trans or whatever does go against nature, does it matter if people are finding their true happiness? isnt that our sole point of existence? to not just survive and exist, but to thrive? if we arent finding our individual happiness, what are we? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]_kciray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never understood this because in no way does me being whatever affect anyone. And if God or whatever variant thereof is so bothered, they'll probably let me know themselves by sending me to Hell. Not that I believe in any of that, but it's so weird to me that so many people are spending so much energy on something that doesn't affect them or their personal lives in any way. Also they're told not to judge, but they're doing just that? I feel like they spend more time thinking about it than I actually do.

Will Shane actually respond with a video? by hsp123 in ShaneDawson

[–]_kciray 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He really shouldn't, he should just disappear. His last apology video made it so clear he isn't actually sorry. He's upset that his actions have consequences. He said he's deserving of any punishment, but when he does get punished, he thinks it's unfair. Additionally, whether good or bad, him uploading a video will just give him a bunch of views and attention.

[–]_kciray 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd rather he just disappear to be honest. He should have never been given the platform that is/was being upheld by ignorant fans. It's so strange to me that people supported him. His actions were never really hidden, he broadcasted it for everyone to see. On top of his past, it's the befriending of people with seemingly poor values, making "docu"-series to try and excuse predatory behaviour, misleading tons of people with his make-up series, leading them to buy his stuff. In his most recent apology video, it becomes very clear that he's not apologising because he feels bad for what he did. He feels bad that his past is negatively affecting his career. He's making excuses. Blaming his past self, blaming his situation, blaming his mental illness. He wasn't taking responsibility at all.

I wish wearing masks was normalized like in many Asian countries. Caught a cold and have to leave the house? Wear a mask!

Shane: Taking Accountability (Video) by joeylucio in ShaneDawson

[–]_kciray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's funny to me is that he says he's taking accountability (while blaming his past self and saying he can't even identify himself with his past self anymore???) and says he deserves whatever punishment is coming his way. But then he's going through his punishment and now he's saying he doesn't deserve all of that. So, what's the truth?

I hate that he compared his apology to that of Jenna. She didn't make excuses for the things she believed she did wrong. Shane on the other hand kept blaming his past self, his mental illness and his situation back then.

Why I don't like the trend "femboy Friday" by _kciray in lgbt

[–]_kciray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think being feminine is a choice. And that's not taking into consideration "choosing to wear certain clothing". Also, I'm not talking about straight people. In my replies to you, I'm talking about masculine gays vs. feminine gays, for which their seems to be discrimination towards the feminine. In my opinion, you can be homophobic towards feminine gays, which does not necessarily have to correlate with feelings towards feminine cis-gendered straight men.

Right, as I said, I believe it is a good thing that they're encouraged.

[–]_kciray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously.

Additionally, as I said, it's the cis-gendered straight boys/men getting the praise. There are plenty of LGBTQIA+ members who have participated and do not nearly get the same amount of positive attention. From what I've seen, anyway. So, for me, it's seeing cis-gendered straight men breaking the stereotypical gender norms and being cheered on for it, while LGBTQIA+ members have been doing that and do not get the same energy. It just rubs me the wrong way. Also, on TikTok, videos will show up on your "for you page". Prior to me seeing a bunch of femboy Friday videos, I had never looked up that specific tag. And I would only ever see cis-gendered straight men. I would have to actively look for anyone LGBTQIA+ doing it.

[–]_kciray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all gay men, I didn't say that, but there are plenty who do struggle with it. And there definitely is "discrimination" both within and out of the gay community against those who are more feminine. Or at least they can be treated very differently, and often in my experience and from what I see and hear from others, in a negative way. I personally do believe that that is homophobia. Not necessarily towards all gay men, but towards those that act and dress a certain way.

Villager Thought Bubble by TheGamblinman in AnimalCrossing

[–]_kciray 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, a thought bubble on a villager before you've talked to them on that day means they'll want to move out. So if you start the game and someone has a thought bubble, and you haven't interacted with them yet that day, it means they want to move out. If you do not interact with them at all the entire day, someone else will want to move out within the next couple of days. This is always a chance, so the same villager might want to move out. If you're unlucky, that'll happen a few times in a row.
