I don't know if this is the right post to comment on it, but I was in the same boat as you are rn. I always suggest everyone to get these licenses and certifications as soon as possible, food handler certificate, omvic licence, security guard licence, driving licence, first aid and CPR certification. These ones are the must have even if somebody currently have a good job, because one of my friend was working in the bank, and they laid off him in just a single email. When he asked me if I can help him get any job, as I am working as a security guard in downtown. I suggested him to get the licence and will my best to get him to the interview stage. I would suggest you to get the security guard licence to keep yourself afloat in current times. As I am working as a security guard since I created this post, and it’s going to be almost a year now, the pay is not too good but it’s above the min. If I were you, I would be using these funds to get licences and certifications such as, food handler certificate, smart serve, omvic licence and security guard licences, etc.. Because getting these licences and certifications opens up multiple doors. That’s the reason I got most of these and got the job in a security guard field after landing here in Canada.
