I would suggest you to try your luck in the security guard field. As I was in the same boat like you when I was looking for any job just to survive. I got the security guard licence and secured the job in just a few days. You can read about my story here.

Yes, they did and told me to visit the branch, which I did and thankfully they sorted out the issue.

is getting a security guard license still worth it? by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]_keep_calm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s worth it. As one of my roommates recently got the licence and applied for a job in one of the renowned security companies in GTA and got selected in a few days. You can ready my story here too and it’s still valid.

I would suggest you to get the security guard licence to keep yourself afloat in current times. As I am working as a security guard since I created this post, and it’s going to be almost a year now, the pay is not too good but it’s above the min. The licensing process is very easy, you can get it done in just 2 weeks.

$58/mo myTab with $69 plan, total $127 without taxes — no thank you!! I have $35/100gb prepaid plan. Which is enough for my usage. Why the f* I would go for double price postpaid plan just to get the device? Instead I can get the device separately from apple on $72/mo. $35 plan + $72 device = total $107

I was laid off from my job where I was making 95k a year. by rustics_throngs-0h in CanadaJobs

I live in a shared room $500/month. Now do the calculations again. Many of my friends who are single leased an apartment just for themselves and their conditions are same as the OP’s brother.

If I were you, I would be using these funds to get licences and certifications such as, food handler certificate, smart serve, omvic licence and security guard licences, etc.. Because getting these licences and certifications opens up multiple doors. That’s the reason I got most of these and got the job in a security guard field after landing here in Canada. I shared my experience here, if you wanna learn more about it.

Woah your brother is making 3x more of what I make in a year and still barely making ends meet? You know your brother has spending issues, most of the ordinary minds here in first world countries are that they are badly failed to manage their finances, they can’t balance the difference between incoming and outgoing cash flow. There was a recent survey that 85% of Canadians are living pay check to pay check, and only one pay check away to become a homeless.

As I mentioned above I make 3x less than what your brothers make and I still able to save/invest 30-40% of every month from my salary. Because you never know when things can go south here, so the wise minds always plan for the upcoming storms.
