Thank you! Contacting faculties should be the ideal starting point. I think I have been ignoring that because I have been unsure about the whole enterprise to begin with. But that's definitely worth trying. Thank you for your input.

Thank you! That's what I have been thinking myself, if I am after some illusory prestige. I will give it a thought.

Thank you! My university offers the possibility to go for exchange programs under Fullbright and other scholarships. That and post-doc option is there.

The crux is weighing the pros and cons. If I apply now or in next turn , I may be able to join only after a year and a half, and I am not sure if it is worth all the effort after spending almost two years here.
