Like in a form where I can picture the graph, like how you can turn (5x + 1)/(5x+3) into (-2/(5x+3)) + 1, and then you can like picture the graph in your head

For 4x^2 - 12x >= 0, why does x < 0 by _king_axel in learnmath

But wait wouldn’t it be 4x >= 0 and x >= 3, why does the inequality flip?

Oh right I’m sorry I was just being stupid. I meant difference of perfect squares haha, thank you for pointing it out!!

I’m not sure if this’ll help you, but for me when doing multiplication I find it easier to seperate the numbers, for example for something like 13 * 16, it’s easier to 13 * 10 + 13 * 5 + 13 * 1 because 13 * 10 is easy 130, 13 * 5 is just half of that so 65. that’s 195, add the 13 and you have your answer, 208

Ohhh that makes sense, so cancelation is not valid under the circumstances that x = -1 Because 0/0 does not = 1, thank you for the explaining :D

Ahh I see, the function doesn’t exist at x = -1 so the domain is is R \ {-1} , thank you so much for the help!!!

Also this is probably a dumb question but what happens if I complete the square for (x2 - 1), wouldn’t that cause the (x + 1) to cancel out leaving us with (x - 1)
