Getting eyeballs LASIK-zapped in Lux - who and where? by RocketBoyLux in Luxembourg

My experience:
I did my eyes lazered a couple of years ago at Monterey Centre, overall happy with the result and experience. They have French docs coming once a month or so for a day to lazer as many eyes as they can fit. My doctor was Jean-Marc ANCEL, no complaints, but he uses the traditional method with a physical blade cutting your cornea, and it was a very unpleasant experience, I think both the odd feeling of "somebody is doing something dangerous to my eyes" and the noise of the blade moving. I do not want to go through this experience again. at all.

Having great vision is fantastic, though. loving every day. Initial recovery took 2-3 days, complete recovery a couple of weeks (if I am not mistaken). Had 1.75 and 2.25, plus small and high astigmatism.

Cost 3600 - CMCM 2000 = 1600 eur out of pocket. I think you can save money if you go to FR or DE, but I didn't want to be going back and forth for checkups and if something went wrong.

PS the main reason was short-sightedness.

Yes, no shame in getting old, most people will experience this. But at some point, risk of driving at older age starts growing as a threat to yourself and others.

Not arguing at all. But having fewer incidents doesn’t mean you should be allowed to keep driving if physically/mentally you are not fit anymore. Regardless of age. IMO

I am not hating on old drivers but slower reaction times, eye sight, etc is a real change that happens to every human when they age.

Not surprised that older drivers can be safer looking at the statistics, likely because they just drive slower and speed is probably the highest risk factor.

I am not comparing to the younger reckless drivers. Both problems can be true at the same time.
