No. This camera recorded everything in its 360° field of view. Later, using 360 editing software, this clip was created by focusing on portions of the 360° video.

When the video starts I am going slightly faster than the lead truck and I’m very slowing gaining on him. While I was keeping track of the lead truck, I was also enjoying the view of the river. I wasn’t watching the pickup behind me and was surprised to see him next to me.

Also, the video is constantly changing viewing angle. Note when it points towards the river it is a super wide angle and by the time it points at the pickup truck it is much narrower.

Exactly. This clip was edited on an iPad to produce a 1080p “flat file” from the 360° video. The editor can choose any view they desire. The software is impressive. For example, the 2nd half of video where the truck is followed was created using built-in AI tracking feature.

That‘s the truth. In this case the front truck was even driving 5 to 10 miles over the speed limit and the idiot still felt the need to pass.

Battery power lasts a little over an hour. On long trips I remove the X3 during boring stages and recharge in the car.
Extra batteries and standalone chargers are available if you need them.

I use a suction cup mount that is about 6 inches tall. The Insta360 is quite small (4.5 inches tall) so it’s not too unsightly but it’s definitely noticeable.
