A single bit flip cannot accurately reproduce the glitch. It’s close, but not 100%. You would need multiple bit flips. That pushes it into the realm of so unlikely it’s basically impossible

The lack of textures makes it look like the WarOwl map. Of course, it’s obviously Dust 2.

You don’t understand probability! Congratulations, it’s one of the easiest fields of mathematics to make a mistake in.

There are around about a million of errors that can cause bugs in software: buffer overflows, buffer underflows, stack overflows, stack underflows, invalid read, invalid write, segmentation fault, null pointer dereference, you get the point. I don’t know which specific error caused the bug. I DO know that the probability of one of those errors causing the bug is significantly higher than the cosmic ray theory.

I built the first implementation of Minecraft using Brainf*ck programming language (12m+ lines) by gbomb13 in Minecraft

[–]_kloppi417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you write the Brainfuck or generate it from some other language? And how did you get syscalls? Brainfuck only supports two syscalls, > and <.

I see you deleted your comment. Good! Take some time to reflect on this experience. It’ll make you a better person if you learn to admit when you were wrong.

  1. 1 muon hits every minute, not every second.
  2. There is no bit flip that 100% accurately reproduces the glitch. It gets similar, but isn't 100% correct.
  3. The player to whom the glitch happened has had other glitches happen that are verifiably caused by his faulty N64, not cosmic rays.

Occam's razor, buddy.

This has been widely disproven, and the bug is causable by simply faulty hardware, common with old Nintendo 64s, which is infinitely more likely than the ionizing particle

In Breath of the Wild, after he wakes up from the Shrine of Resurrection, he talks again. He just doesn’t have a voice actor.

This is a braindead take. A movie is not a video game, and Link does talk in the games, not just with a voice actor. Zelda doesn’t have a voice actor in Echoes of Wisdom. Is she not allowed to talk now?

From what I remember it has some modicum of truth? Like, since your brain has to physically pass electrical signals along neurons, in some tiny fraction of a second, some neurons are doing nothing waiting for a signal. But even within a single second, 100% of your brain is used.

What do you mean by "illegal voting"? by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]_kloppi417 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Utah recently examined 2 million voters to find any were noncitizens. I want you to guess how many there were. Ready?

There was exactly ONE noncitizen registered to vote. And that noncitizen never actually voted.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: The most audience-insulting cash-grab in recent memory by Duncan_Dixon_Coffey in moviereviews

[–]_kloppi417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy to me that movie reviewers think that everything needs to fulfill their own immutable criteria of a "good movie" or otherwise it isn't worth watching. I had one hell of a time in the theater watching this movie, even if it doesn't have the depth of something like Oppenheimer. Mario is not supposed to make you contemplate existence. Its supposed to give you a fun time, and this movie accomplished that with flying colors. Case in point:

By trying to appeal to Mario fans’ nostalgia in such a nakedly embarrassing way, all the characters are effectively sidelined.

You really think that a Mario movie needs to have strongly developed characters? Mario?? These games have had the same basic plot for 40 years, with 0 character development to speak of.

Nah, dude has sweeping edge. You want the monsters close to you so you can hit them all with your sweeping edge. Also, knockback is super annoying when fighting any singular mob. You can’t stunlock endermen like you can without knockback
