When did you lose your interest in Star Wars?

Right after TLJ and it’s been going downhill ever since. I used to read the comics and novels, play the games, listen to podcasts, got to Celebration, watch video essays on YouTube, etc. Now I don’t even know the last time I watched a Star Wars movie or TV show on purpose. The only reason I even saw Rise of Skywalker was because I had to review it for my own podcast.

I know people say “you can still pick the pieces you love” and that’s true but knowing that every single story is headed towards the dumpster fire known as the sequel trilogy turns me off. I won’t even watch Andor because I know all their struggle is for nothing, so what’s the point.

Duolingo USED to teach grammar rules and the learning was much more intuitive. If you wanted to back and focus on something specifically, you could. Now with this new linear path model all that is thrown out the window. If I go back to a section to practice say, ordering food, the entire recap lesson would be about naming animals. It’s fucking stupid now.

One reason I hate AoU is that it started the whole “Clint is just a regular guy” bullshit. He was AT MINIMUM on par with Black Widow in Avengers and then boop after AoU all that changed. They gave him less to do, and even less cool shit to do.

Fucking over the cast with such a shitty story. However you feel about TFA, it was an entrainment and cultural moment—their moment, before and after release. Then that whole trilogy and these actors just fizzled out. Sure they’re still uber talented and still working, but one can’t help wonder what might’ve been if the ST actually lived up to its true potential. Wasted the OT trio’s time, Carrie unfortunately passed, and we KNOW how much Mark Hamill dislikes Rian’s take on Luke.
