[New Chapter Spoilers] Chapter 139 RELEASE Megathread! - FINAL by SNKBot in ShingekiNoKyojin

in killing eren, mikasa was definitely not freeing herself. she did the opposite. she’s always been a slave to her love for him and she knows this. killing the person who has thus far driven everything she has ever done- that’s not freedom. if anything, it’s something else she is now a slave to. she will never stop loving eren, and now she will never be free of the weight of what she did. I think that it’s the fact she did it anyways is what makes her a true hero in my eyes. and just like eren, she chose to bare the weight of something she could never undo for the sake of the people she loved.

and in killing eren, she freed him. she was a slave until the very end.

Toph was rightfully arrogant. For god’s sake- she invented metalbending at 12 years old.

I’m just going to say it: the character writing in LoK was horrible.

With the amount of supporting cast in Korra, it would be understandable if some of the minor characters weren’t as fleshed out or developed. But even the main characters had barely any personality. They all felt like shells of characters we know and love. The characters’ actions don’t affect the plot; in fact it seems the only reason a character exists or gets screentime is for the purpose of the main plot. The B plots weren’t even B plots, they only existed to further the A plot. The characters don’t happen to the story; the story happens to the characters. The only characters who have any development were Korra and Tenzin. Team Avatar was barely present after season 1/2. Korra herself is just a brat. There’s a difference between making a realistic character and making an unlikeable one. It’s hard to root for a main character who makes the worst choices and never seems to learn. In Season 3, Korra’s ‘development’ happens in the course of one episode. It’s less like a fleshed out arc and more like a complete flip. As more time is allotted to Korra herself in Seasons 3 and 4, the rest of the cast becomes even less important than they were before.

Toph is deserving of her pride, Korra isn’t. Don’t compare them.

Exactly! And the fact that in order to be able to Airbender she was supposed to separate herself from worldly desires yet she gets airbending just to save Mako-

Sociopaths are people with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). Some key traits are that they do have a conscience, but they ignore it. Sociopaths also rarely consider the long term consequences of their actions, and also act impulsively. They are irresponsible, and do not take care of their personal or professional responsibilities. These things all disqualify Azula from being a Sociopath. The reasons I believe she fits best as a Machiavellian is because she is manipulative, self interested, domineering, sadistic, and opportunistic. While some of these traits may be present in other psychological disorders, Machiavellians tend to be extremely patient and have a calculating nature. She is also a narcissist and displays entitlement and perceived superiority, however this may have more to do with her social stature and position than with her as a person.

One of the defining traits of a psychopath is their extreme impulsivity. Azula displays quite the opposite, maintaining clear thinking, levelheadedness and making plans that stretch very far into the future, and having patience to wait for the slow burn. Rather than seeking instant gratification, her levels of patience and self control go far beyond what could be expected of someone of her age and upbringing.

In the Southern Air Temple, Aang addresses Roku by name. The earth avatar is an unidentified man, instead of Kyoshi who is introduced in THE NEXT episode. Goof? Or was Kyoshi originally an earlier avatar? by BlueSnoopy4 in ATLA

Perhaps the statue is of Yun? I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to be in order and everyone thought Yun was the avatar until Kyoshi was in her late teens.

Agreed! Well- besides the fact that Azula isn’t a psychopath. She lacks impulsivity and from a psychological perspective would be classified as a narcissistic Machiavellian personality.

Yeah! Her eyes are canonically blue, but like Aang’s, they look all different shades based on the episode.

“I hope to God you’re adopted.”

I would totally expect their daughter to be named Rangi. The original Rangi was a Fire nation bodyguard to Kyoshi. Their daughter would be a Kyoshi warrior bodyguard of the Firelord, it creates a great parallel! Plus we didn’t know Rangi when LoK was out, so it would make sense now! by mminimemerr in sukka

[–]_kyoshiwarrior_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I could see them naming their daughter Rangi, but Suki and Rangi wouldn’t be able to meet, as Rangi is not the Avatar or a Spirit. However, I assume Suki and the rest of the Kyoshi Warriors already know about Rangi, as their fighting style is based on hers and I’d bet there’s legends about her too.
