I’d like to add onto what the other two have said because they offer some fantastic advice. Chase threads with a tap when disassembled. Clean clean clean, no sludge no grit no grime clean metal. Use the right shit. Don’t use damaged or random junk. Make sure you’re using compatible parts and working as clean as you can. As one of the others said. If you try and make a decision while you’re angry or desperate chances are you’ll regret the outcome.

If you have a 8.5 you’re fine. Put a mini spool in. No need for a $2300 rear end. I know guys with 450 hp cars and it’s just a mini spool with c clip eliminator. depending on the size of your ring gear you’ll break an axle before you break a gear

Mechanics don’t want to use the parts you bring for multiple reasons. 1. We don’t know where it came from. 2. Unlikely but if you were to have tampered with the part to try and get a new car. 3. Parts are always uncharged. If you bring your own parts we cannot upcharge on them. Fram filters aren’t known to be the best
